I don't understand how come that Portugal suddenly is the #3 of the world? They swapped places with NL, but both teams haven't played one single game since the last ranking...One would say that all teams stay put if they don't play, but apparently Portugal is better at not playing than NL is. And Portugal is only in the WC because of a backdoor...Must be sth going on there. >^..^< M-G (puzzled)

That was the problem for me too: there were Dutch on both sides of the field, and no matter who won, there would always be some Dutch involvement in there. Schneijder is important for the Dutch team, as is Robben. And if that Italian player who attacked Robben in the final minutes would actually have injured him, so that he could not play for NL next month (like they did with van Basten, but van Basten was kicked completely out of football by Italian defenders) I would have personally gone to Milan to shoot the bastard.

Anyway, only 2 weeks left to the WC. I am defintively looking forward to it. Good thing is as well that in SA they have about the same time as here in Ireland, so you get games at christian times instead of 7 in the morning or 12 at night.

I'm so not....I got headache watching some games last year in SA (some cup). Those vuvuzelas will kill it for me...:(

Tens of thousands of blaring vuvuzelas in packed stadiums during the World Cup could leave soccer fans deaf.

Research by the University of Pretoria's communication pathology department has found they pose a significant recreational risk for noise-induced hearing loss and far exceed permissible occupational noise exposure levels in South Africa.

A team measured the noise level of vuvuzelas at a premier league soccer match attended by 30 000 spectators and found it peaked at 140dB (decibels).

Professor De Wet Swanepoel said he would not recommend that anyone be exposed to noise levels above 137dB, even if they were wearing earplugs....

I have to say that is the first WC I don't look forward to...

...After complaints received during the Confederations Cup in June, Fifa said it was unsure whether the trumpet-like instrument would be allowed into stadiums. But Jordaan gave fans the go-ahead to blow their vuvuzelas.

"The vuvuzela must be used and allowed at World Cup stadiums, but ... it should be used as a friendly, welcoming instrument, not as a weapon or missile," Jordaan said....

Thank you very much for everything Polson. You thought and arranged everything in very good way in this tournament. You are the true winner because of this hard work. I am on holiday now and will have few more beers to celebrate it tonight.

I hope there will be something similar in WC. More people is interested in it and I expect and wish surprising results and a month full of good football for everyone at june.

Germany will go out early since such a immigrant killed our captain Ballack for his native home country (Boateng affair)...:( And still we take his brother in the team...our stupidity knows no bounds...we deserve to lose! A set of deaf ears will be the only souvenir from this tournament!
