CROSS COUNTRY SKIING...whats it all about...?

I can understand the interest in watching downhill skiing and certainly ski jumping....but whats with this cross country skiing that seems so popular on Polish tv...?

Is it just me , or is it a bunch of people trying to run in brightly coloured suits with bits of wood strapped to their feet...?

Semms to me they would be better off chucking the wooden bits on their feet and putting on a pair of spiked running shoes...

I have....and yes she is very cute....


but she would be cute even without the silly skis....

They are also "real" althetes who train to the max because of the stamina that's needed for it, watched a prog about it some time ago and I gained a lot of respect for them, bit like fell runners in the UK, its amazing to watch, but I dont expect you'd enjoy that either...

I always thought that cross country skis were made that way so I can get from slope to slope without having to take my skis off. We certainly skied downhill on them as well.

I can enjoy watching peeps on skis...

The downhill , the slalom , the ski jump and speed skiing look interesting enough .

but the cross country just looks like a lot of hard work , and is rather dull....


I just wonder why this is so popular when there are much more interesting winter sports to put on tv....

Maybe they do it because of this Polish lady thats quite good at it...?
