It has been confirmed that Englands' squad base will be in Poland for Euro 2012. I have heard on the Polish rumor mill two locations Krakow and Warsaw. Any one got any concrete info yet?

Bit stupid staying in Krakow seeing as there are no games being played there.
Disappointing news for the people of Krakow tho who have to put up with the stag party scum every weekend as it is.

Krakow is a good base. Easy train access to Wroclaw, Warsaw, Poznan and Lviv

The English fans will base themselves in the same area as the team.

Krakow was chosen so that the english team would be kept in relative quiet to the rest of the teams. It is the normal thing that the english do since capello took over. I took as bad news, as I will be in Krakow at the same time, because all the english fans could go to Krakow before the match but then they will move on the location of the match.

Lets hope they get knocked out in the first round

If it is fact the England camp will be in Krakow, then the krakow gmina have come up short again. You will have all the other fans who wish to visit the sites of Krakow, there first sight will be drunken and unruly English louts on the market square. They should have put the English in Katowice, the local business could do with the cash injection.

England, Welcome to Hutink! Hotel Stary is very central though, isn't it? How are they going to keep the fans away?!

Having been to two world cups in Europe the problem will be that England fans attract hooligans who want to prove their manhood against 'The English'.

Whereas most England fans will come to watch a football match. I can tell you there is far less drunkenness at England's matches than at Cracovia, for instance.

I had the pleasure of watching them pissing in the streets yesterday. Again. I live close to the stadium.

So expect drunken Polish hooligans to cause problems against English and other nationalities becuase there is a whole sub race of football hooliganism in Poland that died out in England many years ago.

Not disputing that the Poles have their problems re: football hools. My point is all the other nations who are based in Poland. Those fans will travel to Krakow as the city is one of the jewels of Poland. The rynek will now be ' three lions square'. There will be Krakow hools on the street picking out the drunk foreigners just as they have been doing for the last couple of years to the stag doers. Krakow don't need the money that England brings, they will get it anyway.

FA justifies choosing Krakow. Some interesting points
1. Hutnik will NOT use their own pitch leading up to the championships.
2. The Dutch and Italians will be based in Krakow too!

Actually it is perfectly reasonable. Close to Ukraine and still EU and two international airports nearby. The only thing they did wrong is they are third in line so they will not get the best training sites already occupied by Dutch and Italians...

Most fans will stay in the city where the group games are played.

They are getting the pitch specially made by the company who is in charge of the tournament grounds, a very good move. I doubt they would be able to do that at Cracovia or Wisla.

Hopefully the embarrassment of teams travelling to Warsaw via the E77 will prompt the government into building the S-7 to Krakow.

The positive publicity Krakow will get from the the three teams being based there is incalculable. Its very likely the entire sporting media from around Europe will be largely based here too. This will be very very good news for the city's economy and image, the British media is praising Krakow in every way it can.

I hope it all goes according to fairplay, I will reiterate Krakow does not need more exposure it is known the world over. There are other cities in Poland that could do with a leg up. In July Krakow, is always bustling with tourists, if it all kicks off with the opposing hooligan element, it will all have a negative effect on Krakow ( especially with all the Int media there)Remember Krakow is only a small city ( 850.0000)
