After a brutal zadyma in Italy and one man died many injuries the chance for Poles and Ukrainians grow up, but before the accident with pseudofans Zbigniew Boniek said that he is almost sure that Italy are 100% future host of 2012, cuz UEFA want to make 24 teams to participate in the tournament and POLAND and UKRAINA will not manage (in UEFA opinion). The Italy Football Association thought about quiting the hosting, but probably will start, we will know in April, but Poland still have a chance after drama in Italy this year.

In Poland the "zadyma" (mess) in Polish soccer is going to be as severe as in Italy - so I would doubt Poland will still have a chance to organize EURO 2012..

And we must not forget the Hungary-Croatia bidding... And they can keep up with the 24 teamed Euro as well, as announced.
Yes, maybe Italy was the favourit, but now there is two things against them. One is the mentioned scandal, but it is only short-term (at the worst time for them).
The other is: giving some chance to countries not only choosen from the world-powers of UEFA. And Italy has already orginezed two "Euro"s.

Poland/Ukraine joint hosts for Euro 2012

Both countries are hoping to host the football tournament in 2012. The UEFA President has personally endorsed their bid and there is a good chance they may win the bid which will be revealed next month.

Do people think this will be of benefit to Poland ?

Yep. the main problem would be probably lack of proper stadiums. Italy? Maybe.

miranda  Mar 25, 07, 14:30    #12
I am just wondering how those 2 nations would co-operate with each other. It would be interesting to watch

We could build them in 2 years and they are not so expensive, so everything depends on our determination.

Not that expensive if you're not using an English developer..............i.e. Wembley Stadium.

God knows why we can never bring anything in on budget.

There is truth on both sides. Italy has now worse chances, than earlier. But anyway, not the "elite" again! UEFA is to open to eastern Europe. But how much? Croatia-Hungary or Poland-Ukraine? Hard question. But because of some bad news between polish and ukrainian football-associations, I would doubt them a bit. And as Bubba said: "sort the roads first... one step at a time" Maybe Ukraina-Poland is not on the level, from where in 5 years they can be good enogh for that. But I'm not sure.
I think Cro/Hun can be the good choice between two kind of problems.

I remember reading a few months ago that FIFA and UEFA were going to try and discourage joint bidding for tournaments between two countries, and Austria/Switzerland 2008 would be the last one that would be staged like this. I hope not though, it's probably the only way the tournament would go to the "smaller" footballing countries.

Forget Hungary/Croatia and Poland/Ukraine, they should make it Poland/Croatia

Only 4 days to go before the decision is announced. Poland sound confident they get it.

PolandEuro2012  Apr 17, 07, 18:59    #20
I THINK THAT EURO 2012 SHOULD GO TO POLAND-UKRAINE BECAUSE IT WOULD MAKE EASTERN PART OF EUROPE MORE DEVELOPED IN FOOTBALL SUCH AS STADIUMS AND ECONOMY ESPECIALLY IN UKRAINE.

ITALY SHOULDNT GET BECAUSE THEY JUST HOSTED TORINO 2006 AND EURO BEFORE

HUNGARY-CROATIA SHOULDNT GET EURO 2012 BECAUSE LESS THAN HALF THE COUNTRY IN HUNGARY SUPPORT THE BID AND NEEDS BETTER ROADS/ STADIUMS

I REALLY HOPE POLAND TOGETHER WITH UKRAINE WOULD HOST EURO 2012 BECAUSE I WOULD DEFINATLEY GO AND SEE THE TOURNAMENT

ANY ONE HAVE AN IDEA WERE THE FINAL WILL BE WARSAW/KIEV?

Poland/Ukraine Get it

Poland and Ukraine have been chosen to host the 2012 European Championships.

Italy was widely expected to win the Uefa vote in Cardiff, with another joint bid from Croatia and Hungary also in the running.
