That would be great fun. I don't think most people realise just how difficult it is to drive an F1 car. I probably couldn't even get it off the starting line and I have my driving license.

Please don't fall for that ******** peddled by the F1 fraternity. I don't have my car license but I dam sure I could drive a f1 car. They don't even have gears FFS.

I flew a multi million pound 747 and a 737 flight simulator and it was **** easy to do. Don't tell me a car is more difficult to drive.

As Seanus says they are not that easy even to get em off the start line....after several years of racing very quick Porsche cars i was given the chance to race a one year old formula one car..not at all easy... Since a new car is created every year there is quite a number of old cars around that are no longer competitive , some end up in museums , but many continue to be used in classic non formula one events... I drove a lotus previously used by Johnny dumfries , and it took me quite a while to get used to it despite my experiance...the power is easy enough to get used to , but the big shock is the huge amount of power the brakes have , aided by the downforce , and the massive ammount of grip this downforce gives you when cornering.....these cars are so very sensitive on throttle and gear balance and one mistake has you spinning off into the barriers at huge speed...nooo not easy to drive at all....

Even if you had the skill to keep a formula one car on the track at anything like racing speeds the averege person would only manage two laps before their neck muscles went into spasm from trying to hold their head up against the g forces of cornering...Have you ever looked at the necks of formula one drivers , they are like a bulls neck....!

The Porsche i drove was nowhere near as powerfull as a formula one car , but still the g forces were amazing...i was once asked to take a well known footballer for ten laps around a circuit...this was a fit healthy guy , but after ten laps he had to be carried from the car as the g forces had sapped all his strength....

I can remember a few years back Ferrari were getting over a million pounds a year , just from one sponsor..not a cheap sport by any means...
