I was just wondering if you were the coach of your favourite team, who would you select to play in the upcoming World Cup? I will start off with my selection for the Dutch team:

Goal: van Stekelenburg
Defence: Boulahrouz, Heitinga, v/d Wiel, van Bronckhorst
Midfield: Affelay, van Bommel, Sneijder
Attack: Elia, Kuyt, van Persie.

v/d Vaart could substitute either Kuyt or Elia and when Robben is fit to play again, he can substitute Elia.

Just curious who you would select.

If I were Fabio ….. I’d have taken that offer from Milan.;)

My picks for INGERLAND would be:

In goal:

David ‘Calamity’ James

Defence:

Glen ‘ Defending is for Wimps’ Johnson
John ‘ Do you know where your wife is?’ Terry
Ledley ‘ Osteoathritis’ King
Ashley ‘ Yes I do JT’ Cole

Midfield:

Aaron ‘I’m not covering for Glen’ Lennon
Stevie ‘Get outta my way Frank’ Gerrard
Frank ‘Get out my way Stevie’ Lampard
Joe ‘Who do I play for now’ Cole

Upfront

Wayne ‘If you think I’m thick you should see my brothers’ Rooney
Peter ‘ The clouds are down, hit the high ball’ Crouch

So we have NL and England. Anybody else wants to slip into the coat of the coach?

I hope I can escape somewhere from that football madness. Couldn't they all be eaten by lions or something? Now that would be entertaining :)

Aren't there FIFA rules that stop you fielding corpses?

Interesting that there is no place for Lord Lucan;)

As Poland is not playing I will not pick a single team to support.

First of all, I will support all Slavic teams: Slovenia, Serbia and Slovakia, but they
will probably exit the competition early.

Then, I will support Nigeria and all other African teams, because they are the nigg*rs
of Africa and we are the nigg*rs of Europe, so there's a kind of kinship between us.

After these two groups of teams, I have no other choice but to support Germany as they
have 3 Polish players in their squad anyway. So, here's my pick for the German team:

GK Neuer

RB Boateng
CB Friedrich
CB Mertesacker
LB Lahm

RM Khedira
CM Schweinsteiger
CM Trochowski
CM Ozil
LM Podolski

S Klose

LOL

I bought two six-packs of German beer today to show some support for helping
us with the flood. The only kind of German beer they had in my local market
was called DAB (Dortmunder... something). I don't know if it's any good, but
I will try it out today, during the Spain-Poland game. If it's OK, I will make it
my official beer for the World Cup :)
