I wonder how Legia Warszawa's "White Legion" and all those other right wing firms from around the country will act during the Euros seeing coloreds from the west... ;)

Mr Grunwald:
Maybe ask some elders. Jonny may know that.

I'm only f***ing 43. And look much younger. 40 is the new 30 ;-)

As far as I know, the football violence that started in the UK in the 70s was a continuation of gang (and in Scotland/Liverpool sectarian) violence that has been going on for ages. Remember Mods and Rockers? It happens in other countries too, but the stuff in the UK certainly got a lot of press at the time. What brought it to Poland is anybody's guess, however groups of working class lads scrapping with each other is as old as time itself. Daisy's comment sums it up really.

Although he of course got his Polish passport and promptly left Poland.

Ask yourself the question - Polonia Polish league - No champions league - low salary or Panathanikos ( Greece) Greek league - champions league - high salary? No brainer for me.

I remember him being in the Polish national football team even after he joined the Greek club

Well some extreme Germans said "Why you not wearing marks on your arms like under WW2" So I bet there will be some animosity.

But I still do think that the core of the problem that made hooligans who they are and not normal "cheer" squad and hack at each other the "Divide & conquer" tactic from the commie times

Let's hope the hooligans will behave nice during the football cup, or is this just dreaming? :/

Yep. The 30 or so firms in Poznan have agreed to a ceasefire during the championships, but only in order to unite against the common enemy.

They can really destroy the image Poland want's to build for itself in Europe. The officials should clamp down on them as hard as they can.

This championship is a make or break moment for Polands international PR...
