When Panathinaikos Athens played Manchester United in 2000 Champions League he purposely wanted to test how good the best Manchester players were. First he went after Gary Neville easily outplaying him, mad and embarrassed he asked David Beckham for help, Beckham wasn't able to do anything either, Sypniewski took the ball from him whenever he wanted. In an interview he later said Beckham is overrated there are a 1000 players as good as him. Too bad that vodka ruined him and his career he would have been a great one.
Byłem w dużym gazie, więc miałem fantazję. Kilka razy specjalnie zbiegałem na swą lewą stronę, by zmierzyć się oko w oko z Gary'm Neville'm. Obiegałem go, jak tyczkę, więc wku....ny poprosił o pomoc grającego przed nim Beckhama. Ale David w defensywie też nic nie zwojował - wspomina swoje pięć minut na salonach Europy "Sypek".
