It's in reference to the fact that the lech fans all turn away from the pitch and dance around like that!

I was at the Man City - Poznan game and when all the Lech Poznan fans did that the Man City fans sang at them "What the f***in hell is that". Next thing I know is that they've adopted it and adapted it as a goal celebration for themselves.

I am absolutely not shocked by this. Go to one soccer game in Poland and you see just how completely unbelievably tacky, corny, and unsophisticated soccer fans are. If there was ever a time to use the word "gay" not referring to sexual preference.........this would be it. Polish soccer culture is really really gay.

I quite like Polish football fan culture, well, apart from the racism and violence, but the singing, chanting and enthusiastic support the fans give their team makes the game very enjoyable to attend even if events on the pitch are rather boring. It's a lot better than the game here in the UK now where the authorities have almost eradicated fan culture and frown upon everything other than a bit of polite applause.
