I'm interested in seeing how far his potential in MMA will take him. However, he signed a contract to do four fights which he already has. I couldn't seem to find any reliable information that he's going to continue fighting.

What potential? He was a great seller of tickets, but he won at least two fixed fights and was beaten by a fat and out of shape Sylvia.

I never said it was a high potential. :-) He still can improve though if he works on his cardio and fighting technique.

Sylvia is not in his prime time but he's still a good fighter. He has a massive size and he knows how to use it. I'm not trying to give excuses but let's not forget Mariusz broke his foot in that fight early in the first round.

And let's not bring any conspiracy theories in here about fixed fights please.

As far as this part of your statement, I fully agree with you (please tell Marek11111 to quit with his conspiracy theories, lol)
Other than that, we all know that Pudzianowski, however a great strongman, really sucks as a fighter.

Pudzian should have stuck with strongman competitions.

He probably made more money from 4 MMA fights than he did from a year of being a strongman.

Well - what I don't understand is why they fed him to Sylvia in the first place. Beating up people like Butterbean was easy for him - he certainly should have stuck to fighting only in Poland, perhaps becoming "Polish Heavyweight MMA Champion" or some such. The "undefeated" tag would have made him seem like a monster to the average Pole - and he could have probably had a couple of fights in Chicago to make money from the Polonia.

Even if fans of the sport know that Pudzian can't fight to save his life, he's well known to the point where he would attract lots of casual fans. But losing that undefeated tag...

(then again, Lesnar's now been beaten twice and is still the biggest draw that the UFC has)

yep, "strongman" only pays like $10K for the 1st place (correct me if I'm wrong).

Not many people have an interest in this sport, except for some juice heads and girls who like guys who look like that.

Uh, Pudzian's fights have all been very well attended in Poland. They've also done pretty well on Polish TV - he's a box office draw. As I said - he has name appeal, and people who don't like MMA will still tune in to watch him fight.

And as for "not many people have an interest" - UFC 121 did a gate of over $2,000,000 and a buyrate of over 1,000,000. Hmmm. Doesn't sound like "lack of interest" to me.

I wasn't talking about MMA I was talking about strong man, hence my previous post.

personally, I think he should stop. For him to improve his jiu jitsu, wrestling and striking/footwork will take a long time. To develop advanced striking takes YEARS, its not something you can develop in one year. Personally, I don't think he should continue fighting.

There are far more real talented fighters in Poland with more potential in their baby fingers for fighting than Pudz has. Whoever said Sylvia is still a good fighter is either lying to keep their wet dreams of Pudz alive or has no clue what they are typing. Don't worry Poles, the real fighters here can all be successful globally with time.

I don't understand posters who criticize successful people like Pudzian - he accomplished everything in Strongman, done a lot of stuff on the side too (which was sometimes funny, sometimes silly, like singing a pop song with his brother's band under name "Pudzian Band", dance contest etc.). I think the only things he hasn't done yet are maybe clay pottery and artistic painting;). But above that, why not let him do his bit in MMA? Let the guy kick some butt.

Sylvia is not a bad fighter and he can still win because he knows how to use his size as an advantage. Let's see you in the ring with him tough guy.

I'm not obsessed with Pudz either. He's not even within my top 10 favorites.

Pudzian is a great promotional machine. But as a fighter? It wouldn't be difficult at all to take him out - his only real weapon is the leg kick. Apart from that - anyone wanting to beat him just has to do what GSP did in his last fight - jab, jab and jab again. Two rounds of jabbing and Pudz would be exhausted.

In that part you quoted me in, I was referring to Sylvia.

I understand Pudzian is not a great fighter. He's still fairly new and he needs to train more.

His cardio is bad because he has so much muscle mass. After seeing his last fight, it does look like he's trying to lose some of that mass. So again, let's just wait and see how he does with an acceptable muscle mass for his body frame in fighting.

He's set to fight James Thompson 2 weeks from today in KSW16. Personally, Mamed Khalidov Vs Matt Lindland should be more interesting but Pudzian should make light work of Mr Cauliflower Ear. He needs to go 4-1. He may go for a rematch with Tim Sylvia but it would be a mistake. A guy like Travis Wiuff, Dan Severn or Jeff Monson would make a lot of sense for him were he to whoop JT. They all have impressive records and are MMA veterans. He would be much better thought of were he to beat one of those 3. JT is too slow and Pudzian has to beat him, really.

I always liked Jeff Monson. He's the shortest guy that I know of in the heavyweight class and he sure knows how to fight people a foot taller than him.

The fight with Sylvia was hilarious because he literally looked like a midget compared to him.

He just didn't have any idea how to fight Sylvia. He missed a glorious rear naked choke chance. Thompson should be a lot easier. Pudz just needs to stuff his TD attempts and then unload on him. He has the stamina now. He should set out to plant Thompson full in the face. 3-2 is just not an option. Besides, Thompson is 3-12 in his last 15 fights (despite being very unlucky) and it would look horrible if he lost.

And it looks bad now :( Losing to JT is an embarrassment! His next opponent must be sb with limited cardio like Kimbo or Sapp. His conditioning let him down badly.

Yeah that last round made me yawn. It was like watching a fat kid run the track. What a waste of time. I think I'm done paying any attention to Mariusz's MMA career.

I can't wait for the Brock Lesnar fight.

Brock Lesnar got sick again recently, and tomorrow he will announce if he will retire or stay in MMA. He has this disease where you have a massive hole in your stomach. I hope he gets well soon.

Yeah, Mariusz stole money there. 350,000PLN and he couldn't even last 10 mins after a whole year of trying to improve his cardio. And to think that he was a gym instructor in the past, LOL. He should give away half of that to charity as it is unforgivable. I couldn't care less who he fights in KSW 17. He should fight Crocop through Moosin in Aug of this year. Crocop will get his career-ending win and Mariusz will learn a few more things about top-level MMA. Crocop can go 25 mins and 15 is normal for him. Mariusz would ask some questions of him but only in the first 3 or 4 mins.

On a different note, Lesnar has divertitis. It's a recurrence of sth he had before. Shane Carwin has stepped in and, if he has improved his cardio, will really give JDS a stern test.

I hope Brock gets well. I've been a fan of him since I was a little kid when I watched wrestling. I would be very sad if he retired. :-(

I was disappointed too. He won the UFC Heavyweight Championship in only his 4th fight. Pudzian fully gassed after his 5th fight. Pudzian is a dud and a fraud. He is still bleeting on about what he can do but he had his chance and blew it. Only Sapp (big name) fits the bill as he gasses before Pudzian. Crocop would be a huge draw for Moosin. As for KSW 17 and possible revenge with Sylvia, he'd get crucified. Timmy wouldn't even need to train.

JSP would make a kielbasa from Pudzi in two rounds.
