No stadium in Kiev, no 2012 Euro championships.

The Germans want to "help out".

Poland, meanwhile, lacks the hotel spaces. Is everyone going to turn into a bed and breakfast business for summer 2012?

Yup, I have 2 free beds, region Silesia, prefer females, I make breakfasts myself.

On a more serious note, Ukraine or not, I'm afraid Poland will have problems with more than just logging. These stadiums are being built awfully slow, I reckon there are still some places ( that were being chosen as stadium cities ) with not even a construction site yet ( lots of 3d models and presentations though )

Platini is just a jumped-up twat but he is right on this one. Ukraine needs to improve the quality of their stadiums but they didn't make the decision to host it. I told you France supported Russia and not Ukraine ;) ;)

Frd, I have some 200kgs women that might be interested ;)

Wroclaw is the only questionable one at the minute - the others are doing fine. Poznan isn't far off completion now - I pass the stadium almost every day and they really aren't struggling at all.

If by 200kgs you mean there's 3 of them I'm up for the challenge ; )

Nice to hear that, getting some first hand information, if you can really see the stadium growing it's a good thing. I was just relying on the tv report most probably on the Wroclaw one.

Yup, 3 big heffers for ya :) Be sure and get up earlier for your own breakfast :)

Will football teams have to be airlifted and dropped in? ;) I heard the roads are even worse than they are here.

Have I missed something? I was dividing these 200kgs by those 3 petite girls.. ; ) and 66,6 kilos although being the number of Satan can't be that bad...

Yup just like the famous Polish paratroopers drop during market garden operation mentioned in one of the good ol' ww2 threads in here ; ) we will set up aa guns to make it more of a feat to land.

I'm really curious about that, throughout the last few years I've been happy with the DT¦ motorway, using it to get to Silesia city centre in Katowice from time to time but the road has really seriously deteriorated and it ain't that old.. they are clogging every hole with a bulgy pulp.. it doesn't help at all. I'm pretty sure it's everywhere like that in Poland, if the motorway isn't brand new it's all bumpy.

Wroclaw will be ok, they finally came to their senses and gave it to the Germans to finish up. They don't do concrete work in the winter...but it's been picking up as of late. The bypass is getting there too, the major bridges are almost done.

I understand that Coventry and parts of London were redecorated by the same company.

And still you couldn't find somebody else??? ;)

No comparison to Dresden or Hamburg, mind you....

Oh, how times have changed! After decades of Polish companies working for Germany (my father being one of the workers on a construction sites all over West Germany) now Germans are building for Poland. I like it!

Oh, so you only like this style in foreign country, not so much at home.

Now Germans are starting to work for Poles in Szczecin. Lower wages, but some work (esp. undeclared) is better than none. Apparently, Germans are working illegally in the Polish construction industry.

I read the link in another thread and this info is unproven yet. Looks like individual Germans work in calling centers when German language is required and some lawyers but nothing significant.

It may be true...

I don't doubt the work per se but the illegal part.

It's only natural that the former border territory will grow together over time with Poles going
West and Germans wandering East, as it was natural for millennias.
I expect much more of that to come! :)

Just as it is natural to avoid paying taxes where possible....

Well...not "natural" in Germany! Most people pay their dues or our country would look like Greece.
