So, basically, you're telling me to send you three bottles of chokeberry vodka in June 2012.

Yes, yes, trying to blackmail you with nationalism :)

Sweet beautiful nationalism!

*Prepares himself to enjoy this new relationship*

In all honesty, I'm hoping for the best (as long as "the best" has nothing to do with the Mannschaft...).

Poland has no chance of winning euro - or any football competition for many years to come. There simply is no talent in the country as youth training programs are garbage and the pzpn is corrupt as hell.

Euro '12 will be a huge embarrassment for polish football fans and for the country as a whole. The only good that will come out of hosting this tournament will be all the construction projects - because not even half of the **** they are building now would not have been built without euro '12.
Pan.Polska77  Sep 8, 11, 22:03    #37
why do you say that Polish are not the kind to go and disgrace their own nation you are wrong they do have a chance of doing something in this tournament, and i guess you also havent been following them lately either.

There is NO way that Poland can win the euro2012, i doubt even if they will be able qualify in the next round...in 2004 we won the Championship but we had a stable performance and got great results. Poland till now didn't manage to show that you are capable to reach the top!

YES. They have one of the best young goalkeepers in the world in Wojciech Szczesny (NO I am not an Arsenal fan) And Robert Lewandowski is pure world class.

Can Poland win? The odds are small.

But remember in one of the recent world cups Poland vs Germany...
Poland lost.

But our hooligans beat the Germans :)

The glory days of Poland in the 1970s was great for soccer (football).

Oh come on, it is never good sign when goalkeeper is a hero of a day - maybe except Jerzy Dudek performance in Istanbul.
But overall they were not so bad, there is a hope but I say getting past first round will be success. Goalkeepers as always are decent, but rest is rather mediocre with few exceptions. Although Poland as a host is in the first basket, there will be hardly weak teams in other baskets. I hope for the best but I'm a realist. The most probable is that like before Poland will play three games: opening game, game of the last chance and game of honour ;)

didn't the keeper you mention as one of the best let in 8 goals against Man Utd last week.

Yes he did, but he was also Arsenals best player in that game, God only knows how many the Mancs would have scored against the buttery Spaniard!

Anyone who watched the match could see the Arsenal defence was in total disarray; the young Arsenal defender Jenkinson who got sent off was out of position so many times it was ridiculous ... Walcott ended up having an argument with the youngster because of this.

SZczesny could not be blamed for the eight goals .... he was let down badly by a shoddy defence!

Maybe if there is a euro hooligan 2012 competition. They have a good chance in that.

As for the football, not a prayer!

It would not be polite of a host to push out from the tournament any of the guests, would it?

Deal, and if you kick out the Germans in the finals you can get a nice church as a bonus:

Poland may progress given their group but they won't beat the likes of Spain and Germany, that's for sure.

now that's even better. deal done. but I'd still like to do something with this church. if you don't want it, then maybe we could hand it down to the Germans as a consolation prize.

Seanus, the trick is that every team in our group think they can progress easily given the opponents :D

well we ALMOST bet Germany a couple of months ago! :D

it's best not to remember our last encounter with Spain though... :(

Well we'll manage something,my father in law has private business for equiping churches with self-heating benches and carpets.I guess this basilica will suffice for whole croatian population ;)

Germans are strong this year...we'll have to employ some Serbian terrorists to stop them...I don't see other way.Maybe there's one on this forum?

yeah, that was great game and that's why I think Poland will end up 1st in group.

leave Spain to us.That will be one attacking game, both teams like to control the ball and attack.Modric vs Iniesta.I look forward to it!

Or we could put a stadium inside for the C-Catholic group games. It would fit in easily. Maybe it's still not too late to do it.

ask him. But don't give him too much ammo, otherwise he might end up shooting down all the EU teams sparing just Poles and all the fun would be gone.

No way. We always lose with the potentially weakest teams, it's our tournament tradition. And this time we're going to play with 3 potentially weakest teams.

blackadder:
leave Spain to us.

With pleasure :)
Seriously, I'm looking forward to it too. I like watching Croatian teams play, be it football, handball or volleyball. You guys are always fighting to the last blood, a feature our wooden Pinocchios are dramatically missing. But the silver lining is that Szczęsny should have a good opportunity to practise his skills.

Some of our players are too big sinners to put them in church, roof would fall down:) Our manager Bilic is tattoed devoted heavy metal fan, known for bringing Iron Maiden in Croatia as guys are his friend from times he played in Premiership.

Very perspective keeper! This experience will mean lot to him,as he will be in best keeper years 8 years from now.great potential.
Our handball is strong, even our young generations will replace Balic,Vori and others without pain.Yeah,we are stubborn bastards, you can say that. But we lack discipline in all sports. We have big heart though...

No prob, heavy metal is strong in Poland, our h-m guys might give your manager a few hints on how to deal with the Catholic church. Anyway there is something called "catholic heavy metal" too.

yeah. Shame that we can't put up a team consisting of 11 goalkeepers, then we'd have pretty strong chances for a championship.

blackadder:
Our handball is strong

so is volleyball, but with these games at least we have a chance against you! :)

If by win 2012 you mean qualify from your group then yes, there is a good chance. Home support being the 12th man. win it? You know what chance a snowball has in hell? Halve it...halve it again, then quarter of it. Now you're in the ballpark...
