Well I just watched some about the Holy War and what-not, so tell me: What are some of the chants? (and their meaning because unfortunately my Polish is almost non-extent)

Polish football chants consist of insulting the police or the opposite football team.. and it's not your light "Burnley fans eat bananas with their feet"... the mild one I remember, pretty old one though, is "ole ole ole, nie damy się, nie damy się" it's something like "ole ole ole (random singing shout ;) ), we won't give in, we won't give in"

As for more insultive and dumb one, here an exampe:
"zostaw kibica, hej kurwo zostaw kibica"
leave the football fan, hey ***** leave the football fan" ;) ( probably aimed at police )

You don't have to know Polish to understand the chants, as most of the chanting
on Polish stadiums is done in classical Latin.

Polish supporters favourite Latin poet is Horace (as can be seen on the
picture below - click to enlarge).

Dulce et decorum...

When their team is victorious in some very important game, Polish supporters
usually sing the ode "Exegi monument". This is very suitable for football chant
because of the simple Asclepiadeus minor metric pattern.

However, it is with great sadness, but I have to say that the level of classical
Latin on our stadiums is slowly deteriorating, especially among younger supporters
who manage to keep the simple Asclepiadeus minor rhytm but when the verse
requires switching to more sophisicated Asclepiadeus major metric pattern,
it seems too complicated for them.

Oh, well... times change I guess.

Also I saw somewhere online:

"Do boju!"

Yeah I noticed the cops are usually the target. :P

"Do boju!"

"To battle!"

"boju" from "bój" - "battle/fight/struggle"

I just remembered another one, a little bit more violent and pretty well known in whole Poland ( usually different cities have their own hooligan songs )

"jebać Policje i całą tą koalicje"

"fukc Police, and this whole coalition" lots of tune variations out there.. eh I'm kind of ashamed I even know this one. ;)

Już za cztery lata, już za cztery lata, Polska będzie mistrzem świata! :D
[Already four years, already four years, Poland will be a world champion! - if I'm correct]

Always after the world championship :D You know, always look at the bright side of life:P Do not lose your optimism:P

But it applies to the national team, not for local

What are you on about with the Latin chants? I've never heard someone singing/chanting in latin at a game in Poland. k98_man go on youtube and search for Lech Poznan fans or Cracovia fans or Widzew fans just any Polish fans and you'll find vids. then put them on here and we'll translate. And despite what others said its not only dissing police/rivals. They're just people who dont know anything about fans and think that we're all hooligans which is not true !
