Although I sail I have never glided. I am a bit jealous.

Here is DA MAN:

First name: Sebastian
Surname: Kawa
Born: 1972-11-15
Height: 182 cm
Eyes: brown
Nationality: Poland
Sebastian Kawa flies gliders since 1988. He has already won ten gold medals of World and Europe Championships - thus continuing his father's passion for aviation. Before he sat down at the controls of a glider he used to sail - winning medals in the classes Optimist, Cadet, and "420". He is a physician by profession.

Great links, thanks. I never competed but I enjoyed flying gliders tremendously, primarily ask21s, K8s and puchacz. Not sure if I can explain it but it was the "happiest" flying I've ever done. I've flown heavy wide bodies all over the world yet flying gliders is what I enjoyed the most. Trike ultralights rank pretty high up too.

Sailing was a lifelong passion for me and I had 10 glider lessons in Schweitzer2-32s (Warner Springs, California) before I came to Poland. I wish I had had time to get my license, because it was really enjoyable. Finding a thermal and going up at 800 fpm is truly an amazing experience.
