Here we go again .... Polska has been drawn in Group H along with England, Montenegro, Moldova, Ukraine and San Marino; group winner automatically goes to the WC in Brazil and the runners-up will have a 2 leg play-off.

And why not???

England are very beatable as are the Ukraine and Montenegro. San Marino? I don't mean to be arrogant but its another wooden spoon for them.

The top team goes through and the 8 best placed teams that come second go into a play-off.

Very acheivable.

Its England that need to look over their shoulders not Poland.

Cracking group - Montenegro are a decent little team, Moldova will be a difficult away game, Ukraine will always be difficult and Poland are just a banana skin.

Group A: Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Scotland, Macedonia, Wales

Pretty tough group, not hte best teams but they are relatively even. Croatia should take the first place, and I think that Serbia and Scotland will fight for second.

Group B: Italy, Denmark, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Armenia, Malta

Italy takes first place and Denmark takes second. Even though it will be between them and Czech, but the czechs aren't as good nowadays.

Group C: Germany, Sweden, Republic of Ireland, Austria, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan

An will be an exlusively germanic fight. It will never end in anything else but Germany in first and Sweden in second. Unless Sweden takes first of course. ;-)

Group D: Holland, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, Andorra

Holand first, no doubt. Will be a fun fight between Turkey, Hungary and Romania about the second place. Turks are the better of those, with Romania behind them.

Group E: Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Albania, Cyprus, Iceland

Weak group with Norway and Switzerland taking first two places. Slovenia is behind them but dont think they can challenge.

Group F: Portugal, Russia, Israel, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg

Portugal first, Russia second. Easy pick.

Group G: Greece, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lithuania, Latvia, Liechtenstein

Greece should take it home pretty easy with Slovakia in second.

Group H: England, Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, San Marino

Little tougher group. I have no real sense of the poles, but Ukraine is usually good and Montenegro is an interesting team. I say England first and hope for Poland second. But brain says Ukraine second.

Group I: Spain, France, Belarus, Georgia, Finland

Stands between Spain and France of course. Hard to say who will take first place... I'll go with Spain.

England are in a period of rebuilding .... can they rely on Gerrard who is very injury prone; is Joe Hart really the answer to the constant problem of finding a true no 1 for England?

Jack Wilshere seems to be the player England's hope's are resting on, and that's a lot of pressure on a young man's shoulders.
Have England got a real no 9 they can rely on to score their goals .... Bent, Carroll, Defoe, Crouch, .... who would be your first choice if you were England manager?

Polska .... are in a tricky situation ... we haven't had any real competitive matches considering we're hosting the Euro 2012 Championships along with Ukraine; our first real match comes in the opening match of the Euro 2012.

Hopefully all the practice matches would have given the Polish coach to know what hist team is; let's see how Polska does in Euro 2012.

It's about time Polska produced another decent team, like the one of the early 70's, and then in the 80's also.

Who are the players to look out for ..... Błaszczykowski .... (?) ....Kuszcak or Szczezny (?) ......is Brozek no longer considerd in the Polish squad?

I haven't been able to follow the Ekstraklasa or Polish players overseas recently, so would be grateful if anyone clued up on Polish football could shine some light on who may be the Gwiazda for the Biało Czerwoni :o)

Possibly, but believe me, they will find a way of making it hard for themselves ;)

I dont know whats worst...

qualifying for the world cup and losing all matches

or

not qualifying at all.

---

Anyways I hope Poland does well. I dont want one of the above scenarios.

Gerrard, like most of Liverpool, cares far less about England than he does about his club. He's never reproduced his club form at international level.

so would be grateful if anyone clued up on Polish football could shine some light

Wojciech Szczęsny has the potential to be a top, top keeper. Fabianski and Kuszczak seem to be bench warmers having failed to grasp chances to make their respective no.1 shirts their own. Tyton looks decidedly average to me, Sandomierski probably the best reserve keeper.
Full-backs, depending on their availability, should be Piszczek (despite corruption allegations) and Boesnich (hopefully will return from injury ok). Centre back positions are up for grabs with Sadlok, Jodłowiec and Głowacki battling it out.
Midfield looks promising, Blaszczkowski and Peszko on the right both impressing in the Bundesliga, Obraniak a quality left sided player plying his trade in France, and Eugen Polanski (finally) deciding to turn out for Poland looks a promising player. Now if Poland can nab Maor Melikson from the Israel national team that really would be a coup, he looks the real deal.
Up front seems to be Lewandowski on his own, who often cuts a forlorn figure despite his obvious pace and finishing ability. Injuries may well have finished off Jelen, Sobiech is also injured although a promising young player who should bounce back, and Brozek is also a pretty tidy striker to come off the bench.
Finally, I'd have to say the jury is still out on whether Smuda is the best manager for the job in my opinion...

Greetings from Kyiv, Ukraine! )
Again we are in the same group!
England is always not easy draw, Montenegro looks not so difficult as some other teams from "basket 2".
I think we have a group where every team can drop points in almost every match.
Sure, San-Marino team probably is not a serious opponent.
As for all the rest - let s play!
+ we are so close and i hope a lot of supporters may visit away matches! that s great!
Best wishes from Kyiv! )
