It seems Polish people from "Podhale" (known as "Górale") give Poland proportionally more famous/outstanding people than the rest of Poland, especially sports (and music). Adam Malysz, Tomasz Adamek, Justyna Kowalczyk to name a few.

Is it a coincidence or people from Tatry have something special? Or maybe they have better sports infrastructure and management?

That's not the point here. For them the rest of the nation speak silly and that's alright :

I've heard that the podhale region has always been poorer than other parts of poland and therefore poles living in this area have grown accustomed to working harder - as a result they may be better prepared for strenuous activities (sports).

I was talking more about the distance past. I know they are bringing money from the US, but this is more recent. They also work physically, few of them go into higher education.

Their temperament. They are rugged folk and do things with passion. Whilst many others just bumble, they put their heart&soul into it and won't be slack.

He He, as far as it is tempting to agree with your thesis, the problem is I don't find it true statement ;) It is enough to mention decent voleyball and handball teams to overthrow you theory with simple number of players ;)

True is though that "górale" are quite defiant folks...

Ah, that famous german sense of humour again. Still, at least you are good at ducking and running, must be due to plenty of practice.

pffft hahaha I'm a Goral and that is one of the most insulting things i've heard about Gorals. I see Nazi propaganda is still ripe in Germany.......tell me do you still consider Jews as an inferior race?

No we are certainly not "Goralenvolk" as you call it........Ethnograther Timothy. J. Cooley wrote a book about Gorals and explained, that Highlanders and their culture are purely polish! so nice try their kraut boy........and jst a tip if ur ever in the highlands of Poland, dnt mention ur Nazi propaganda or otherwise ull be counting ur teeth on the ground
