Admin,

While you are tidying up, why don't you get rid of the translation threads ?

They serve no purpose at all once the OP has said 'thanks'.

Why not slap together a little code to auto-prune the Off-topic forum? Or better yet, in case you're using a good RDBMS do it via triggers.

Because they relate to "Poland and Polish news."

I think not. I've just checked them. No-one adds to them and a word search won't help to get a new translation for a specific problem.

what if it takes on a life of its own and starts to destroy the entire forum and it can't be stopped?

No, plk123, because that is the point of the OT ;)

The Off-topic? It's not constantly trimmed. Random Chat is deleted monthly and the English Word Association is cropped when it gets too big but other than that the OT is largely left alone. I don't recall when it was completely deleted other than yesterday.

yeah, trimming, moving... it's constant.. this place is the most moderated forum i have ever come across. it just surprises me that poles would be this kind of control and rules freaks.

So the posted translation requests don't relate to the Polish language at all?

If you call removing and re-creating the OT forum once every 2 years something constant.. (the OT forum was created about 2 years ago and only deleted yesterday). Or you complain about constant (ie. daily) moderation here.

I never said that. Please select any translation request and show me how it helps the forum and future members.
The translation requests are specific to the person who wrote them. They would only help me, if I wanted to say exactly the same thing as the OP.
You have almost 200 translation threads, which mean nothing to anyone.

Apart from this regular members often ask for requests inside other threads or they are answered in Random Chat. I wonder how many translations get thrown out when you clear Random Chat each month.

A word search is more likely to bring up something in the Polish/English Word Association thread.
