Hi all.

I am having my stag doo in Sopot/ Gdansk on 20 July 07.
Could you give me any tips about where to go and what to see.
Not looking at getting drunk every night but want to cram as much in 3 days as possible.
How will poles greet a ganG of lads from manchester and will we be safe as long as we are good.
Also how cheap is Sopot for food and drink.

Just remember you are representing your city (and mine) so dont act like complete c*cks - have seen too much of that in Poland and Czech...have a lovely time and remember Polish beer is stronger than English beer so take it easy...

Amathyst. Dont worry we are all fairly mature ands did all our cocking about in our twenties.
Just going for a new experience and to see Poland in all its glory.
We just like to have a few beers and relax. Plus we dont wear union jack shorts and fight.

Can anybody recomend some great places to stay. Whish are not too expensive.

We have our flights booked for the 20th of July.
Found a place on the internet called Lucky hotels at £12.50 a night.
But we are looking at other more upmarket establishments as my future farther- in-law is coming.

Try for an apartment - more space and also if there are a few of you its easier - better than a twin room!

Get your currency from M&S, no commission and usually really good rates -

you'll love it not been to that part of Poland yet but the beer and food are fab in Polska!

Also if the weather is anything like it was last July it'll be damn hot - but leave the union jack shorts at home...

Hello I am going to make a tour across Poland: Gdañsk, Warsaw and Krakow in agoust with a spanish friend and her family. We do have where to stay in Warsaw but have no clue about Gdañsk and Krakow.

I have seen many pages with hotels and apartments, but would really appreciate if you could give me a personal recommendation of a place.
I heard in Krakow there are nice bed& breakfast near the city center. As her parents are rather old it would be good if itīs not very far away of the main attraction of the cities.
Do you have an idea whatīs the average price to stay in Krakow and Gdañsk?
Thanx!

Where are the best clubs and bars to go to in Sopot?
Is there anywhere to visit outside the Tri-city?

i am a scouser and have been going 2 gdansk since 1999, i have benn there 37 times now and to other parts of poland, i would have to admit that its the best part of poland for every reason, including bars and clubs.
my wife is from there, so AMATHYST not all scousers are the same, i love this city and am planning to move there within the next few years.

NOOOOOOOO Just a name for someone born in Liverpool. Similar to Cockney from London, Geordie from Newcastle, etc.

Scouse was the name of a stew eaten by the poor in Liverpool.

Mind you we do have a reputation for being scally(wag)s and stealing bit of cars which is of course perpetuated by the Southerners who have got far too much money and time on their hands.
