Thanks. I always thought it was something bad. I'd see A calling some people this and I thought she was slagging them off.

There r loads of bars and a few clubs in Gdansk centre, try one called 2Parliment"!

Bar Szkocja is down in the old town - I had a look in just to satisfy my curiosity but didn't have a drink. Gdansk got too many good Polish bars to spend time sitting in a kitsch Scots bar.

One of my most embarrassing moments was the doorman at Parliment asking me for 5zl to get in. I told him to get on his bike and that no way was I paying that much to get in to a bar in Gdansk ( I was still getting used to converting my zlotys in to £s )

Just remember you are representing your city (and mine) so dont act like complete c*cks - have seen too much of that in Poland and Czech...have a lovely time and remember Polish beer is stronger than English beer so take it easy...

Best advice a drinking man can get. I've seen things get ugly due to lack of knowledge of foreign beer....well foreign to my friends......

Can anybody tell me if i will have trouble with 24 lads getting into bars in the daytime.
At night we will split into groups and do aour own thing so not an issue.
Plus where are the good cheap bars.
And more importantly whats the best way to get from the airport to Gdansk centre.
If its a taxi how much should it cost.

To CHILLICHILLI:
1. It could be a problem to find place for 24 lads(bars are quite small);
2. there is a cheap(soup-2,5 zl; dinner-10 zl) chain of VEGETARIAN restauranst called Green Way,you can find them nearby Dluga in Gdansk, also in Sopot (ask young people);
3.Nearby the airport there is a bus stop take bus nr 110(you can buy tickets from driver-tell him you are a student); go to the final station(it will be Wrzeszcz PKP, takes about 25 minutes); there change to SKM (it's some kind of city train), Gdansk Centre is the third station;

Alright,

I am a scouser also. Just back from Gdansk. Don't recommend it for nightlife really. Stay in Sopot. If you are going to go out in Gdansk one night try the Absynth bar underneath the theatre. Tell them I sent you. They are scouse friendly. Head barman is a good laugh he is an AC Milan fan. That is the best friendliest place I found.

The cab between gdansk and sopot should be a couple of quid each if there is a few of you. Its not worth taking this cab at peak business times as roadworks have crippled the city.

Yesterdays is good for a couple in Gdansk but it does struggle for nightlife. everyone goes to sopot.

Is right lad!
