Stag Weekend in Gdansk, June 08

Hello
I'm planning a stag weekend in June for a group of about 25 of us from England. We're a mature and responsible group and never cause any problems. Just looking for a nice city to visit and have a few beers and check out the culture. I thought that Gdansk looks like a great town to visit but am struggling to find any suitable accommodation for us all. We're just looking for a cheap hostel? Any ideas? Most of the seem not to cater for groups that large. Is Dizzy Daisy still open? Any suggestions of other "must see" sights/bars/restaurants would be much appreciated.
Thanks
g

The problems you might come across from Poles who dont want this type of thing in the city they are living, i know from Polish friends who live in Krakow & Gdańsk that stag weekends are not a welcome practice.
You say that you are a responsible group of people but Poles dont know this & they will see you as the steryotype Brit who just want to get drunk, Look for sex & make trouble! My advice-stay clear or expect a confrontation maybe.

Consider Sopot? Dom Nauczyciela has about 30 beds, for groups they advertise 65-80 PLN per bed.

Now hang on a minute I think 25 lads from England looking for a good weekend in Poland is hardly a comparison to 800,000 Poles in England all doing well for them selves earning cash which Poland has not been able to provide.

OK they get drunk and their bad ambassidors for the UK but for gods sake it is a stag weekend, what do Poles do for stag weekends? Stay in the back garden??

Interesting responses so far!!
Is it really that unadvisable to go to Gdansk or are most of these replies froom Poles who just don't want us to go there? This will be our 5th trip away. We've been to Berlin, Bochum, Bratislava, Barcelona (yes, they all begin with B!) so far, and have not had a single problem. The locals have always been really welcoming, even if they probably don't like stag parties. Would we get a very different response in Gdansk?

Not at all, you'll probably recieve shi#ty looks in the bar when you ask for a drink but thats standard procedure here anyway.

Grzegorz keeps talking about pissing on drunken Brits though so keep a look out for him, i believe he lives in Szcecin but you never now!!

That's happened only once and I apologized for that.

Obviously I'm not saying that they can't come but there's no way that so big group of men will be alble to stay away from problems.

According to someone who posted on here awhile ago, Bydgoszcz is the place to be and as yet undiscovered by the stag boys. Direct flights from the UK and in keeping with the B theme...

Yeah but you can imagine the newspapers in the UK if a group of Poles went out in London got drunk and went mad, eh?

Grzegorz in order to redeem yourself take those 25 British guys and show them around. This way they will not get in trouble, will have positive experiance and you may make some friends.
