Starbucks in Poland?

do they have starbucks in poland ?

would it make a difference if they did not....god forbid that you would have to purchase coffee from a non franchised chain

I don't think Starbucks made it to Poland yet, but they make pretty good coffee there anyway. Who cares about that overprices latte...I make a better one at home.

the same company that has the contract for pizza hut, burger king also has the contract to open up starbucks in Poland, so we might see some soon i think.

pizza hut failed on monte cassino, closed and has been replaced with a stuff-as-much-in-your-mouth-as-possible-for-only-15zl... much more popular it seems... which is strange given the penchant for pizza in poland

anyone who thinks that Starbucks makes good coffee, needs a tastebud and brain transplant

In recent years - i have to admit the starbucks coffee has improved greatly - including the fairtrade range.

ive noted that the uality of many shops coffee varies to much and often in the wrong direction.

there are many top qulaity coffee shops here in cork and im lucky for that - however i also know of many bad ones (starbucks isn't one of them)

Im quite partial to one shop, 'tribes' it does the best gourmet coffee and tea ive had in many a city. (and hot chocolate too)

It must be the water then (in the area). Taste of water from the taps here is not the best.
Bit like Guinness, that's better depending on the water quality <True>

As a coffee fiend I always have to ask for extra shots at Starbucks. It's just too weak for me.

Snap. Same for me too........And a lot depends on who is making it. I always think the coffee isn't that hot in Starbucks.

Cafe uno in the place where I stay is great. Always hot, great taste and strong too........

There's a french coffee shop close by and the coffee is just awful/

As far as I know there is Starbucks in Wroclaw. Wouldn't there be any e.g. in Warszawa?As for Pizza Hut establishments, they are in every bigger Polish city, aren't they? And in Poland, unlike in some other places, Pizza Hut food is just delicious, and a-plenty. You get some divine salads, pickles, veggies, etc. - the whole enormous buffet you can pick from (it's so at least in Wroclaw). I consider Starbucks coffee dull. Maybe the Poles will manage to improve the taste?

rule of thumb when in the UK, be wary if a UK resident is making your coffee. they are better at cups of tea than coffee.

Not sure that's quite true now. In my house good coffee rules. I rarely make tea.
Reason we have a lot of good coffee shops now is because more people drink coffee than tea. I've found, from what little i have seen, some Polish people in the UK seem to prefer drinking tea (especially very,very strong tea).

I love my coffee. I was raised on it :(

thats could be because you are not english and thus dont realise a good cup of coffee when you drink one...

Anyway, Polish people aren't the best coffee makers either ,if I remember correctly.....
they tend to stew everything to get every last drop of flavour out of it. But sometimes, enough is enough <grin>

It's all in the beans and the local water I think. I'm moving home and the water where I'm moving too is so much better.........hence more decent coffee.

My favourite coffee is made from Arabica beans. Medium strength and smooth :)

I like blue mountain coffee too, but a bit pricey........I like a very strong coffee as well.......
just depends where I am, how awake I can be and what I have to do next <grin>

i was unaware that the english were known for their coffee skills. maybe things have changed since i was their 5 years ago. but back then i lost count of the crap coffees i was served.

i think australia has more knowledge in the coffee department, and drink more per capita than any other country.

as i just posted,i was there 5 years ago and decent coffee was hard to in shops that served coffee. it all really hinges on the preparer, if they dont know what they are doing then you are in trouble.

youre right... and we put milk in our tea as well... weirdos, huh?



we are quite happy to let foreigners visit our country but we like to keep our coffee for our own... its a commonwealth thing... your either a member or your not... we either owned you or taught you how to drink tea and coffee... its an empire thang... you gotsta understand...

Im a tea drinker (no milk - strange eh for an English person) - I have no idea how people drink cup after cup of coffee, one cup and Im bouncing off the walls...decaf for me - also black

you dont also sometimes add sugar as well do you....gasp



taught us the art of tea maybe, the coffee thang would be a more migrant (im guessing italian) influence.
