Styles in Poland: What do people wear?

OK, a Polish women or man tend to walk without hip movement, so the upper body from the ass up stays the same only the legs move. UK girls wiggle Poles do not.

There most likely is some difference in style, as styles can vary from one end of a country to the other, let alone in totally differing cultures etc.

My Polish friends have just noticed that where we live if you see a girl in white wash jeans, you know, blue denim thats almost white, then 99% of the time its a Polish girl. Not a generalisation.. just an observation that they have made. I personally do not own a pair of jeans like that!

I hope this was light hearted because my God, by no means was i suggesting Polish girls don't go to the hairdressers, should have fake nails and tan etc my point was don't worry about not being quite perfect going over to Poland, same goes for any country, as nobody is expecting you to be preened like a princess! :)

Well, I'm sorry that I'm so ignorant! It's not like Poland is a constantly talked about country in my small town. I don't believe I've ever heard anything about Poland on the news unless people are talking about WWII. Excuse me if I don't want to make an incredible fool of myself when I'm going to a completely new country.

You asked a legitimate question about styles and some people couldn't handle it and replied with smart comments.

The truth is Polish women always dress well (or try to). Don't try and copy them though just to make an impression, your own style is your own style.

Thats one thing ive noticed with some people, how annoying and self-centred they can be!

I personally wouldn't try to anyway but the person that started off the thread seemed to want to know the fashion so i tried to help her out :)

And thank you for that. It wasn't you who was being a jerk. There were just some people who didn't need to start off their replies with sarcasm. I was being completely serious when I asked about style. I'm already scared enough to be going over seas away from my family and friends for a whole year, and I'm trying to find out as much as I possibly can before I leave.
But once again, thank you Summer, you've been helpful...and so have some others...so thank you everyone.

Well, I was one of the sarcastic ones. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings - it just didn't seem like that serious a subject. I guess I never thought anyone would really worry about their clothes that much.
For what it's worth, you should be fine wearing what you normally wear.

Ok which age group, firstly?
Secondly which economic class.

The lables that are popular in Poland.
Tommy Hilfinger.
Hugo Boss.
Replay.
Benetton
FCUK.
Morgan.
These are the lables the people with cash tend to wear.
Unfortunately there is loads of fake clothing and accessories in Poland, these goods always make people look cheap.

Amongst the youth the hip hop crowd like Sean Jean, nike etc.
Then the metal goth crowd just love their black.
People wear in general the same style of clothes as in the US and Europe period. No pointy hats etc.

Polish women spend a lot of time and money on buying expensive cloths. They love to dress up and look nice. There is nothing really wrong with this. It is typical of working class people to spend so much time trying to impress. To me, it is always a sign of their inferiority complex.

yeah and then arrange dates and stand up pr*cks like you, such fun! its not a sign of our inferiority complex, its just being a woman and having the right canvas to look good in whatever you put on. Polish women are very independent and they know what they are doing. they know what theyve got and are not afraid to use it, after all men all over the world want one (or a few if they are muslim ha ha).

The math just doesn't add up sometimes. They must eat bread rolls and eggs the whole time in order to free up the cash for those clothes. There are many nice things to be found in Lumpeks btw

its a proper embarassment (SIARA) to be caught going thru them piles of used clothing... id rather eat nothing than go there lol!

Well, I've bought some super designer label shirts, jackets and backpack from there. 14zł per shirt, no holes, beautiful blue. 2 stylish coats for 30zl combined. A top rucksack for 10zł. U can easily get lucky there. I'm quite well off here in Poland btw and feel no shame about going there

yup - I was taking the pi.ss too - but only in a light hearted way. Sorry for any offence caused, however I've travelled extensively over the years, yet never felt out of place in terms odf style / clothes.

Plenty of faded jeans and camouflage jackets. Oh, and the women wear thongs which is kinda nice

hah I bought once trousers in Lumpeks. Really nice and orange. Still wear them sometimes. they are making boys look at me hehe :P

There u go, a Lumpeks success story. 8 year olds looking at u Wyspi, LOL, tut tut. Lumpeks has some good gear. As the saying goes, no harm in looking. Well, that's what I thought until I got a slap in the face from my girlfriend, ouch!!

i dont like lumpex!! my mother always tries to drag me there. im like nooo what if somebody who knows us will see us getting in there?! ha ha. all clothes there are smelly and you gotta wash them like 10 times. i must say i do like tkmaxx or some charity shops in UK... :P

If I say something about green being a good, neutral colour for those of the equine family, will you tell me that they only see in black and white? Cause this particular donkey can see in infra-red, ultra-violet, and even occasionally FM radio.

They seem to go through phases - sometimes they can be good. At other times, there is absolutely nothing you'd want to be seen in. Especially the china tea sets and fair-trade teabags and other stuff they sell. Put the kettle on! Nah - doesn't suit me.
