Please to meet a fellow szkilnyk,i;m stefan born 21 08 53.my dad ihor was born in 1923.in the polish ukraine.Got 2 cousins terry and doreen whom i.ve never met i believe are somewhere near toronto.If i dont make a contact will go to the nearest ukrainian club in toronto,look forward to making contact with canadian szkilnyk's my dad said alot of his relations are in canada.my dad was born in drohobicz.his dad was called dymetri.i wish to meet any szkilnyk's

Hi to all fellow szkilnys.my father ihor skilnyk was born in 1923 in the town of Drohobicz poland.I never new my uncles name i know he immigrated to canada via england after ww2.And my mother was called justina huzalak.My mum was born in 1926 in the town of holoskow in the district of stanislawow poland.I know my mothers dad was a locomotive driver and his name was fedir huzalak.My dad once told me his uncles worked in the auto industry in america and canada.both of his uncles went their before ww1.Found there names on the ellis island N.y

There are Skilnick's/Szkilnyk's/Szkilnik's in Illinois, Michigan, Ontario, that could be related and bear out what he was told. Can we all do a little digging and see if we can come up with some names, dates, etc. ED.

My grandfather jacob szkilnik was born sept 21, 1879 in or around jaroslow(I think)
his father was Dmetro szkilnik and his mother was maria Jurczisliv. I'm not sure that any of the last names are spelt correctly. He came to Canada around the beginning of 1904 and settled in Jedburgh Saskatchawan, Canada I am Tammy Mierau's father. There was a picture of Jacob in uniform. We thought that it was Austrian army, but not sure.

Hello svitlana.my name is stefan skilnyk i saw your note on the forum.My dad was called ihor szkilnyk and was born in draobicz in 1923.i know that he had a brother and sister i dont know there names,my fathers dad was called demetri.My dad came to england in 1946.I'm also on facebook,i nearly came to draobicz last year.my dad told me once there was a town called szkilnyk if so please send me some details about that town.yours stefan szkilnyk.
