Are the Poles in England hated?

Hey, firstly, sorry for my poor english.

So i have been thinking of moving to England to work, but why surfing on the internet, i cam across many thigns that worry me.
It seems like there is loads of dislike towards us there.
Of course there are also some nice posts saying how nice we are...

I know that on the internet people say a lot of ********, and most people write just things that they wouldnt say or even think about in real life ( ido so myself, sometimes)

MY question is, are we really disliked that much? I dont like being in place that people dont like me, for some ridicolous reasons.
I know there is loads about it on tihs forum, i read it all, but would like some more information on how the people in the UK view us :)

I have met some english people in my life, when i used to work as a teacher in Zimbawbe, where where all very inteligent and friendly :) however those were people who are really diffrent from 'normal people' they were full of love and peace, working for food and bed and helpiing african people.

Oh yeah, the Poles are hated everywhere...Even in Poland they hate the Poles...I'm not sure about Antarctica and the Moon, but everywhere else they are hated.

There is a search tool in the top right of the screen.
If you employ this you will see that there are many threads already on this subject.

In fact the board is getting clogged up with them.

I think you will just get the same opinions as you have already read.

There have been some bad opinions on here, but there are some Polish people on the forum living just fine in the UK, as do the Polish people I know.

Szkotja, yes i did tha,t but, for me, there is never enough information about those kind of things.

He indicates having read it already. If I was moving somewhere and read some opinions such as those displayed on this site at times, I would would want personal reassurance/guidance on the best move too.

He indicates having read loads on this forum. I indicated he would find heaps if he used the seach tool. Being a member now he will have access to more postings.

Forget the UK! Come to the U.S where you are not hated. I can't say loved because to be honest, there is just no thought about it. Even with an accent you blend in.

Come to Poland.....they like Poles here......

Most Americans dont have any problem with the Poles coming here:)

I think most people from the UK don't have any problem either. It's just a pity that people focus on the negative comments from the UK members here or the negative comments in the British media.

Most of the negative comments on here seem to come from people who are un-employed or have been done over in some way by a Polish person. Apart from noimmigration - we've no idea where he comes from ;)

There is a corner in my flat that looks like a hamster has been living in it. A hamster that chews up bits of paper and plastic to make bedding when it already has a perfectly good bed right next to it. I wouldn't normally disturb someone else's stuff, but someone had to take all those bottles of Tyskie to the bottle bank. The 'hamster' is off enjoying himself for the Easter weekend. With other Polish... er... hamsters, as well as one or two English... er... hamsters?

Its always easier to point fingers at someone else when theres a problem,

I have Polish stores, restaurants, pubs..etc
and lets not froget about all the beautiful ladies:)

Ok.... I have one complaint
some you guys have to learn how to drive....lol

Polish drivers - some of them drive okayish when they're here, but then turn into total lunatics the moment they cross the border returning home.
Perhaps you should be grateful they're not worse than they already are.

I agree with you. The truth is, people make out that the UK was perfect until a couple of years ago. Unemployment, poor health service, poor education provision, they were all problems before. If anything, the arrival of the Poles has pushed the government into thinking about these problems instead of coming out with propaganda like "our NHS waiting list dropped by 50% last year". Of course it did, half the people on the list probably died waiting!

Anyway, I would imagine that unemployment levels have dropped since the Poles arrived - mostly because the Poles have filled the jobs the British unemployed consider "below" them.

Makes sense to me. I don't spend enough time with my Polish friends but when we get together it's always a fun time and I am always made to feel a part of their group (I am the only non-Polish person when we get together), we don't have so many restaurants or pubs here yet but I look forward to more. Plenty shops though even if I don't often have enough time to visit them. :)

Come to Scotland, or go to Ireland, we are welcoming people, sure we have a element of very narrow minded, draconian thinking, downright horrible people, but show me a country on this planet that doesn't.....

on the plus side, in Scotland we have some of the most breathtaking sights the world has ever seen, we have good kind honest people, ,everyday working class people that can make you laugh until your sides hurt , unconscious comedians, the best kind!

we have a people who on the whole are liberal, open minded, with a live and let live mentality.

if you come here and integrate with your community and embrace your surroundings and the people around you, you will be welcomed with wide opened arms!!

same generally goes with Ireland, we are decent skins...

Some time ago we had that on Dutch television too: a guy with a map of Europe asked Dutch tourists in Spain to point out on the map where they were; answers varied from Italy to Estonia and even Holland and Britain. It became even funnier when they were asked where Holland was: answers again varied from Finland to Bulgaria to Spain and even the UK.

Unfortunately I could not find a clip of this on YouTube, so I guess you'll have to take my word for it :)

Don't worry about the moron element in the UK, we who were born here don't worry too much about them. They complain about foreighn workers taking their jobs, yet some of these people prefer to live on benefits money.
Remember, Every country has a percentage of people who are bigotted and incapable of a moderate level of reason.
If you make your bed in England, you must lie in it just as the bed you make in Poland. Try to create some support in the early days by knowing fellow Poles in the area of your choice, you will feel less nervous.
Please remember that most British people like Polish people. Also remember that we are predominately a mixed blood people, so why should you feel different? Many 'Brits' are 50% and 25% Polish blood from the influx of polaks after WW2.(children and grandchildren of post war marriages).

I see that many Polish immigrants seem shy or reluctant to mix. I don't understand why this is, but integration should be easy with two similar peoples. ? ?

Many is a strong word. But with the way these things work, it is reckoned that about 25% of the English population (whoever they are) have some Hugenot blood, despite the small number of Hugenots that came here. We're more Irish than we used to be too. I pulled a couple of trees out for a customer the other day who had a Polish name. When I gave him the trees, I checked I was giving them to the right bloke and he pronounced his name all Englishy. Not a recent arrival, probably second generation.
