When people make fun of an external object whether it be a person or culture it's a sign of their own ignorance, insecurities and fear.

Not quite true. Theres nothing wrong with satire or generally taking the p1ss out of stuff. Theres a victim in all humour.

I have been on holiday for a few days and we went and stayed in Newark. I drove to a Chinese restaurant in Grantham, where, incidentally Margaret Thatcher was born so many years ago!one evening as they have a 'happy hour' between five and six in the evening. There, in the restaurant, they now employ two young gorgeous Polish girls from Krakow! We got talking and I was telling them about my memories of Krakow in the old days and they were telling me how things have changed for the better. I think they just wanted to talk in Polish as it can be a bit daunting overseas for a long time away from home. They would speak in English until the topic became too difficult and then we would revert to Polish. Somehow, it returned to me some of my old faith in Polish nature and how some of the young generation can be so nice, in this retrospect they have to be I suppose as it is, after all, their job. However, it would be nice to go back and see the old place again and it also showed me how so many of the so called 'Polish' people on this forum who are rude, sarcastic and are simply aggressive are not in any way representative of all true nice young Polish people.

Again, it just goes to show how these forum members are not in any way representative of so many normal Poles. 'You stink' such big words over an internet access but face to face you would simply walk away and hide.

Blackberry – please use Afro-Caribbean Berry. We have taken up your advice in this area and have written to the manufacturers of the ubiquitous hand held devices in question demanding that they change their branding in this way. Incidentally, blackcurrants are, of course, to be referred to as Afro-Caribbean currants, Red berries are to be called Socialist Berries and Green Gauges are to be called eco-friendly gauges.

ha hahhaaaaaaaa blah blah blah..

u almost had me.. i started to get very angry then it turned to full blown laughter!

afro caribbean berry <~ bahaaahahaahahahaha

There are good and bad people everywhere and you can not always get on with everyone. It was simply an instance in a restaurant when I met these two super young lovely Polish girls and it brought back so many memories when there were so many more of these nice type of people around. I should visit Poland again one day and see how things look today before I say more.

on the first place, its about assimilation

you hold somebody in defensive, humiliation and as object of jokes and then, people become disappointed with themselves, foreign civilizations becoming more atractive

That is how false West destroying original West (Poles, Slavs in general)

Not always. On this Forum, it just leads to rude remarks most of the time.

Michal...I agree, my interactions both in Poland and here in Ireland have virtually all been positive...and the vast majority are with young people; sometimes the older people get a bit frustrated, feel a bit left out and maybe don't do themselves justice as they can't quite adapt to new situations as their younger people...especially in the area of speaking, understanding English.

The 18-25 yr old Polish group who have come to work in UK/Ireland have done very well and can be proud of themselves and the culture they represent.

However as in ALL countries there will be 5% of the population who behave in less than favourable ways!!!

- I hope the hate-spitting oinker will kick the bucket before this happens. We don't need muck of its sort in Poland. The oinker's hateful utterances won't be forgotten.

I will tell you why. My EX- "roommate" is Polish. 100 degree F weather outside. I have air conditioner on in home. Come home, all doors and windows are open. I ask the Biotcxh why. She exclaims "oh, I thought it was cooler in here today". Then, she ruined my BBQ by cooking Salmon every other day, chicken alternate day on it. Never cleaned the grill. Never never never. Wondered why people got sick. wondered why I got mad at the disgusting GOOK ON THE GRILL!.

then the Biotch has the nerve to tell me to "clean up my mess" with regards to her mail. All I can say is, unbelievable. I hope she gets deported. Self absorbed biotch.
