I know its all the history we learn.. i wasnt born then.. so why should I feel this
anger? but I re assessed my feeling to be directed at people who do in-human things
even though it didnt change much .. because then we get into a whole bigger picture
and it contradicts itself.. *frustrating* Sigh*

I think the feelings of anger and hate are totally natural.
And it is also natural to have more compassion and empathy for your own folks than for other people.

Now putting it into perspective and don't hate the "today people" and also have compassion for other folks is more rational.
Most people can do it...some have problems....a few can't do it at all (those who are very emotional) and are trapped!
You find every kind of those in all peoples....

its really a matter of trust.. with all these historical events that happened..
more or less.. each country has a long ways to go.. but we must keep open
minds..

stating it for what reason?? this is where misunderstandings come in.. I could take
you two different ways.. but I think mostly the sarcasim comes in stronger..

Then we misunderstood each other...I really didn't want to brag or being sarcastic!

But like Tran presented it that Germany must be restraint...as in let's bond together against Germany because she is so influential!

But we can't help it...we ARE that big and rich and all...there is nothing we could do other than mutilate us voluntarily to become smaller and poorer...

If that is really the way for Tran and Co that bears nothing good for the future and Poland will always have difficulties with Germany.

I dont want that either.. but your only one that feels this way. its probably a
misunderstanding most of the time with these types of conversations..

Let's look at Germany another way, or even the US....in the view of other countries ...."for a country that has so much, much is also expected". When there is great power, there must also be great fairness and balance, or you will not be respected. Every mistake made, is magnified by power. And that is just how it is!

Agree. until recently, usa was admired by poland, the media makes us look bad
showing only the bad about the war.. then it dont help that the missle base is going
into action.. but at least the American People get a better reputation even though
our politics suck.

I think the feelings of anger and hate are totally natural.

These may be natural responses to events, but if not handled constructively, they can become powerful forces for destruction.

You have some choice in what you do with those feelings. Focus on hate and anger, and they will grow. Focus on life, and you move forward.

(I have to add this: I wasted one year of my life being angry and bitter at something someone had done. I was consumed. It made me physically sick. Then one day I realized it was only me who was keeping myself locked in the anger. I was the one who suffered by being angry/bitter. I will not ever do that again.)

Many people who write things against America have never been here and base their ideas on TV programs. But once they visit the US, they are surprised it is not at all how the media has portraid it. And most American don't agree with the politics so the information others have gathered pertains to the political outview of the United States, not the "little people".

I like Germans, and Germany, nothing against them.. many helped during the wars
and died along side the Jewish and Polish who were in hiding. at least i like those
who represent true human beings.. :)))

Could I please ask people who have not suffered at the hands of the Germans/Russians not to make silly comments on things they do not know or never experienced.
It may be ok for people who have not experienced the terror of those times to say lets move on, but for those people who have suffered forgiveness is a tough call.
Please do not insult those Polish people who have suffered and are still suffering.

Pat, you may want to enlighten me and provide some facts of those" German people who helped in the war"....I'm listening!

i was suprised at your comment to P, lef - it looks as tho you are re-enforcing the stereotypical image of polish victim mentality and a love of moaning...

the longer poland wallows in its past the slower it will move into its future...

The poles are smart enough to move on and make it happen, I might add the poles are highly educated and given the right environment would do very well. They are more up to it than the British and Australians will ever be.

by all means... but dont keep picking them open or they will never heal... let the new generation, the generation born into freedom, make up their own minds about the world without the older generations pressing their past prejudices onto them...

Once again your not getting the point, Its ok for you a english lord to say that, but how can you say a person who has gone through the horrors of WW2 is prejudiced. what nonsense.
The fact remains that the Germans and Polish people will never trust each other and in many cases still hate each other.
Sorry Bubba you lost me on this one.

Germans and Polish people

who are you to talk in the name of the german and polish people !!!! you dont even live here !!! the botton end is Poland still need the Russians for the gaz and still need the german for the investments . so the poles will have to get over the war becouse they need the germans and russians and they can not dont have the resources to play at the same level as the germans ~. and that is the true take or not .

i dont want to diminish the horros people went thru in the past by any means... i just want to reiterate what SG said earlier (albeit in a slight more forceful way) -

"Focus on hate and anger, and they will grow. Focus on life, and you move forward"

this is sad lef... and poland doesnt have the monopoly on anger and upset at germany... other countrys suffered too... and are leaving that in the past where it belongs... poland has entere3d a new chapter in its history and have a new generation to take it foward... i just think it is sad if the hate and anger goes forward with them, and i dont think it has to...

I think the sad and anger is probally gone, the fact is that Poland and German people have nothing in common.. you should know this by your own experiences.

believe me i do - i mix with people of all ages and from all backgrounds... i have good friends who have *missed the boat* for whatever reason and some of whom survive on sums so small i cant fathom it...

but others are working for their future... are doing more than surviving and happy about where they are going...

sure when it comes to money and business absolutely, always remember Poland is a Catholic country it has survived over a thousand years of Christianity and will continue to do so. Its values lies not in commercialism, it is more aligned to values of the Christian faith. Pardon me if I am wrong but Poland has never been a capitalist society, more a social democratic institution.
Poles will never allow for a capitalist type government. Lets wait and see.
Never underestimate the Polish people.

theres alot more, but I dont have time all day to enlighten you when you can go
find it yourself..

now that you made yourself look like a azz.. which isnt hard for you.. maybe you can
stop trying to put down my intelligence.. I am here to learn like anyone else
but not only do I know some things.. but I also have cousins who had good
experiences with Germans. and so that gives me some idea that there were
still humans who saw past the Reich and what it was about and did what they
needed to do .

As I think we all, to some degree have let anger get the best of us during some point in our lives (been there myself and know too well that physical sickness it produces).....Glad you learned a valuable life lesson, SG.....just wish everyone could (for their own happiness and sanity).
