what are the implications for poland?

It is very good news for Poland, we need our lauborers. We started to take Ukrianinians, I hope it is true news because we have problems with laubour force.

do you think the majority of poles who went to the uk sent the greater part of their money home already (whilst still living and working in the uk) or do you think they will be bringing it home with them now?

thats if they have made enough money to have anything to send/take back! Most of the ones I know are just working to survive in the UK and all their wages go on rent, food and travel so they have little left over. Of course some are luckier and will save money and I presume will eventually go home and invest it in property. I think the main motivation for returning will be less availability of work here and too much competition forcing the wages down. I am specifically referring to manual trades here. Imo it will be a good thing for both Poland and the UK if some people return.

I think some Poles enjoyed UK ;) and don't have money at all ;-) to be serious I don't know.

Yeah, the price of Teddybears nowadays, it's a crying shame...

But to be serious: the UK, just like Ireland, will experience a tremendous downfall should the majority of the migrant-workers leave for other places. Maybe they will realise then what they miss and be sorry for the way they treated them as there will be no-one left to do the dirty jobs for them, the jobs they didn't want to do themselves.

I don't know what Poles in UK think and I don't think they are happy, form person who live in Poland it is good news that some Poles are commin back because they Poles and it is better to take Poles to job that Ukrianians and of course pakistanians.

Like said so many times before, I take person per person, but having listened to an Indian guy explaining me how it came that so many wrong cases (=wrong product) came into our flows for over an hour, my head was spinning around and I strongly voted for more, absolutely more non-Indian persons on English lines...

No. I'm talking about Indian ppl. The Polish ppl I conferenced with have decent English (read: a non-annoying accent). It seems there is no Indian with a voicetone lower than baritone.

But seriously: The Anglo-Saxon world has a problem with sex. The British are probably the most sexually frustrated (post-Victorian, still) ppl in the world. The Irish are just like teenagers discovering that you can do more with your willy than just pee and the Americans, well, they get nearly a stroke when just merely mention the word sex or the word nudity.

I think is clear we should differenciate between the people who migrate for improving a career, and the people who migrate in order to save money and have a better life back in home.

In the first case, people usually stay (me). IN the second case, people come back when their economically situation is better. Havins said that, we need to know that the economy is improving as fast as Kubica running in a BMW :D.

So why stay here? This is nothing new, and that has happend with any massive migration movement, and it will happen again.

For Poland is great news, because qualified people, with different business minds are coming back to home.

And please, don´t use the nosense argument of Poles taking their money back to Poland. What they will do? Leave it in NatWest?.

I wonder why not many people are scandalise by British pensionist taking their money to Italy and Spain... ,)

Most Polish women I dated were basically decent women. After all, I don't respect women who want to shag on the first time you meet. I usually fulfill that wish, but I don't date them afterwards. Most Polish girls are not like that, so I date them more often.

In addition to my post about Dutch women I would like to say that the current generation and the one before that has been raised with the thought that sex was a normal thing, part of life. Ok, you don't go screwing around like mad, but you don't deter from it. This reflects in the attitude, whereas it seems that British and especially Irish women have been raised with the thought that sex was something of the devil. In Ireland only lately they have thrown off the yoke of the Catholic Church, which has unfortunately the effect that they overdo it, but that's normal, it will smoothen down over time. I always ask them: if sex is something of the devil, how come the average size of families in Ireland is 6 kids? :)

Well, for the UK, the implications include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Free accommodations in public toilets for immigrants from some place other than Poland (could it possibly get worse?)

- A chance for qualified people (like noimmi and his ilk) to get a job as a toilet cleaner and street sweeper (or perchance to ply their skills as a plumber?)

- A large surplus of bomber jackets available at discount prices at TJ / TK Maxx for the incoming wave of Nigerhindunepalicelandian Immigrants.

- Allowing for more Tandoori Chicken Huts and Kebab shops as the Polish Deli's close up.

Anyway, I think it's good people are coming back. Many are not so deeply rooted in UK being there 2-5 years only. Let's hope Poland provides places to work at comparable wages.

I think the main problem is that Polish building standards are so low that at first these new Polish builders were accepted with open arms. After a while, we see the results. They put in bathrooms with gaps between the walls and sink units and it becomes ever more costly to correct all their mistakes. Poles will promise you that they can do anything and everything and at a fraction of the costs to boot! Sadly, this is rarely the case.

there are plenty of cowboy builders out there and they are not all Polish.. and plenty of Polish builders who are excellent... its all down to this......if you pay crap money then you should expect a crap job, whatever the nationality.

i did when i bought my flat a year ago.lots of other people keep money here because they are afraid of the polish taxman and plan to go back to poland in the next 2 years.i'm afraid that this is just the beginning of the big vawe.lots of well educated people will go back(unless they already found their dream job here) because after saving some money they will realise that having a decent job is more important than earning a lot of money here.those people who left their family behind will go back quite soon too.
skilled trade people will stay here.at least most of them.if they do something what they would be doing back in poland it's better to stay in the uk.life is easier and better here in areas like the law, finances and taxes.
my prediction is that about 60-70% who came here will stay here for longer than 10 years
