And isn't there like a voice that talks to the teletubbies? I'm going to have nightmares just thinking about it. The handbag I can handle. :)

this was in the local Australian paper today?

Poland's conservative government took its drive to curb what it sees as homosexual propaganda to the small screen today, taking aim at Tinky Winky and the other Teletubbies.

Ewa Sowinska, government-appointed children rights watchdog, told a local magazine published today she was concerned the popular BBC children's show promoted homosexuality.

this was in the UK news today about Poland and its crusade against Tinky Winky. I have actually met him in the flesh (the puppet not the voice) and he was very nice.. leave him alone... and get me a job creating childrens TV programmes!

became a target of religious conservatives after Falwell suggested Tinky Winky could be homosexual

And now we don't have to hear from this nut case anylonger. God rest his soul, but what a jacka$$ this Falwell character was :)

Doesn't the Polish government have anything better to work on? Like maybe the economy, unemployment, jobs, building those f@%#ing highways, corruption, improving the standard of living, health care etc....

Polish government = wiesniaki

It's these idiots who provide fuel to the fire for Polish jokes.

polishcanuck - right on the button. All the government does is fighting instead to provide opportunities for its citizens. Instead, so many of the young people are slaving abroad.
What are they thinking!!! (the idiotic government that is). The communists drove me out of Poland 27 years ago, but it's not much better now.

The headline "Poland investigates TeleTubbies" is being reported by the Washington Post, the NY Daily news and every major news outlet around the world. As I cannot read read Polish, can someone please supply the e-mail address for the politician Ewa Sowinska so that the rest of us can write and tell her what a moron she is?

thanks

this may have something to do with the fact that the sign for a male loo in Poland is a triangle which Tinky-Winky has on his head. Do 3 year olds think in terms of sexual beings, I thought from their bizarre form that they were asexual and I'm 50!! Am I a lost case for mankind?

how come this was in the news 29/05/07 and you've all been blogging 4 a year??? I'm resident in Poland at the moment and am amazed at the homophobia in the 21st century!!!!! i find it quite sad in a country that has come so far but obviously has so far to go.
