It depends are those non-Poles, Slavs or non-Slavs

non-Slavs could be mutes

and, other Slavs, logicaly- Slavs- `those who are able to speak`

just, `©vabe` isn`t German original designation. Its about Svabia- Slavic region which was later germanized

not Niemci but Niemcy , it comes from coz Slavs will be able to understand other slavs long time ago we had one language ... then we meet some nation who does not speak like we do .But better name od that not speaking nation is come from english word germ:)
