+48 or 0048 should definitely work, unless the recipient hasn't got any credit to take your call. try sending a message instead and see if you get a delivery report or a reply.

Wait, you are dialling Poland? or you are dialling someone Polish in the UK?
Do you mean a Polish mobile phone, being used by someone in the UK?

Hmm, try dialling: 00 then 0048 (or +48 if you are using a mobile) then the number, also try dropping the first '5' in that number.

Another option is to dial 0 then wait and listen for another tone, then 048 and the number

Or call the operator and ask them to do it!

Maybe the need to switch networks or sth. It's possible the provider has horrible routing or sth. The 0048 or the + should be working.

+48 plus the number is correct. Are you just getting number unobtainable. If so it is likely that the Polish phone is not set up to roam over here or as someone else said there is no credit.

you need to come to terms with the fact that if you are calling a bird she might have given you a wrong number

It's technical fault. She really loves him. Maybe her hamster chewed up the phone

i just think the person's got no credit. when my sisters were here, they had Polish mobiles with them but when they were out of credit and i tried to ring them there was an error. tell your friend to top up or get a UK simcard.

i would have thought if dialing the number from your mobile it would connect the call regardless of any international access codes as i certainly dont have them in front of any numbers stored on my phone and i text or call them UK/Poland .. :)
