I find myself at a loose end this coming Monday. Need someone to show me the sights, possibly combine with a day-long Polish lesson?

I don't understand those posts. If you plan your trip why not spend extra money on a tour guide? Nobody ha an obligation to be your tour guide/Polish teacher/easy lay.

I would never look for a tour guide if I am travelling - there are maps and travvel books and there are millions of them. If you cannot pay for them, go to a library.

Why is it assumed he's after an "easy lay"? You're right no one has an obligation to be his guide but someone might want to be, hence the posting.

Travel books are great but they're not company. sausage is male but nowhere in his post does it say that the guide has to be female.

Hopefully sauage has found someone to show him around, help with his Polish tomorrow.

Thanks, but I am neither. My girlfriend had to go home a day early to take her mother to hospital. I just about managed to keep myself occupied for the day!

Unfortunately my girlfriend's early departure couldn't have been foreseen and money isn't a problem, i would have quite happily paid the going rate.

well, this is a problem with those requests. There is little detail and a lot of room for speculation. If you explained your situation, perhaps you would get some help from one of the members who live in Krakow.

I am sorry if I hurt your feelings:)

(that teaches me yet another lesson on how not to jump into conclusions-now I am going into hiding)

Miranda, I am not at all offended and, yes, you shouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe I should have posted in the "jobs offered" section?

I notice that another poster (Gosia) made a similar request and got no replies.

I am back in the UK now after a fantastic weekend in sunny Krakow! If anyone wants a tour of my home town feel free to ask...

That would have to be the hotel bedroom overlooking the Wisła, right next to Wawel castle. The second-most favourite would have to be the old town and rynek. We went on a very nice ride in a horse-drawn carriage...
