Is anybody on this forum from Gdańsk? I would like to know if the Christmas Fair is worth visiting (coming from Warsaw). I heard the one in Wrocław is quite good, but what about Gdańsk?

I've been living in Gdansk for seven years. The Christmas Fair is small and nothing special. Come to Gdansk to visit Gdansk. You'll only spend an hour or so at the Fair, but there are a lot of other things worth doing and seeing here.

I have to agree with Scottie. However, the one in Wrocław is really special. The highlight for me was the Gnome pub which sells about 15 varieties of heated wines, beers and ciders, which are delicious and really hit the spot on a cold winter's evening. The one variety they sell in Gdańsk is unpalatable.

Is there a fair in Warsaw? What is it like?

There is a Christmas Fair in Warsaw but last year it was nothing special. It was moved from the Old Town Square (ideal location) to the central railway station. arguably the ugliest location possible. It also was much smaller as the years before.

The Christmas Fair this year will be held at the Barbakan, under the Old City walls. A much better location I should say.

I mentioned the Christmas Fair in Rome because it really is something.

That one in Gdansk is nothing at all actually........... Sorry - but there it is.

Poles can't do fairs. They are too exact, or serious, or something. No atmosphere for kiddies.

Poles can't do fairs.

But out of all the ones you've seen, which would you say was the best, if someone wanted to visit one and asked your opinion?
