Poland poor? No way. Unfortunately Poles are their own worst enemy and the champions of complaining. I wish this dies out one day. Be positive like Italians.

Poland is not very cold. Keep in mind this is winter time but in Russia and Canada it is muuuch colder. Last weekend Toronto had Arctic weather for a few days. It was -33.

I want to move to Poland. In fact I'll be there for 17 days, from late May to early June.

There is no harm looking at another mans treasure, when you have your own " Habibti" at home.

4- in Metro and buses i found girls more than men why?? polish men dont work

Because polish men stay at home drinking while their women work.Just kidding. The reason is that more polish men than oolish women have emigrated.I noticed the same.An unfortunate development.(not bad for travellers since these women strive at pleasures home while the provider is far).

I think you see more girls becasue you pay attention to them and you don`t look at guys ;) The Mosque is open on Fridays only during the day time but it is worth to go if you are looking for a muslim community. You can buy a halal meat there, as well.

Apparently, you weren't in Poland during the summertime. The weather I experienced in August, was mainly hot and humid.

what do you mean system?
Poland is poor unfortunately and don't judge poland based only on warsaw biggest capital city.
most people earns around 1200-1800pln its often not enough for food after pay bills. of course if they are lucky to have a job, if not they got to emigrate. as i read it is estimated around 1-1.5mln will soon go to germany looking for any job.

I myself have travelled to Poland five times and honestly say that most Poles are out for number one and cannot be trusted. Every single house in Poland has a commercial grade steel fence with razor on top around the property, that speaks volumes!! Everyone is out to steal anything they can get their hands on. By the way my wife is Polish and we helped three of her family members immigrate and they have been a huge disappointment to me, the first thing they all started to do the moment they arrived was to lie cheat and steal. I want nothing to do with any more Poles!!!!

This I have never seen. I think your problem might be your choice of in-laws ;-)

moved from another thread

"Every single house in Poland has a commercial grade steel fence with razor on top around the property*

I have noticed that where I live no one seems to have a fence, maybe a gate and a bit at the front (like my house) but the three other sides nothing

The fencing that is here was mostly built by Germans in 1945 and has since rotted rotted away, doesn't seem to bother anyone and saves money. on the odd occasion I see a bull running across my land with the farmers wife close behind find it quite entertainig.

Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world!

This post title is exaggerated, because Poland is years ahead of Africa and many other countries.

My opinion, also based on living there for 5 years is:

- Poles have a good education system, more wide knowledge rather than very deep: quantity vs quality: communism style. They do have several nobel prizes and talented people working everywhere, but their educational level is not as high as UK, Italy, Scandinavia, Netherlands, USA, Japan, etc.

One good example is the average quality of their english: Very rusty, often confusing teaching with learning (because of their own language system). I did met some fluent speakers, but no more than 3 ou 4. Something interesting, was meeting a couple of poles, who were private english teachers, and their english level was medium at best.

- Customer service in Poland (and other ex-communist countries) is one of the worst I have felt: they don't smile but the worst part is that they feel like they are the client and, instead, the client needs to make the effort. And I lived in the capital.....

- Most of the Poles are too proud/arrogant to change, regarding their job or relationship: They learned that way and that's it. Guys can be even worst, because they were taugh to be very self-confident but also because they have many woman to choose from, therefore they make no effort to dress better or listen more his girlfriend.

What is sad and ironic, is that more and more foreigners are visiting or moving to Poland, and seducing many Polish woman. Unfortunately, instead of observing and learning with them, the Poles rather call them ******* for choosing foreigners only because of the Money!!!! When I asked why foreigners had so much attention and more success, and the women replied: Generally, foreigners know how to dress, most of them have a more attractive face than the Poles, know how to speak (not being totally wasted helps), and don't act like they are the best.

Unfortunately, there are also some tourists, who come to Poland thinking that they are so gorgeous and they will easily conquer Polish woman....

- Poles, like Eastern Europeans in general, have a huge problem in telling the truth: For instance, they have no issues in lying in their CV: I know few cases that was written fluent english and MS Excel proficiency, but when the time came to show their skills, they admitted they didn't know but they would learn it very quickly.....

Therefore, user RUR, take the polish flag from your dupa, because as much as you would like to, Poland is still miles away from a Top civilized country.

Regarding relationships, the typical Eastern Europe couple is a Big and Bad Bold Guy with a attractive woman. Man are taught to be a combination of aggressive ( strong, yelling, telling her to shut up or beating if necessary) and sort of gentleman (opening doors, flowers and paying most of the things). Similar to Russians, a Polish woman feels quite feminine when the man pays for everything, opposite to other cultures, who could feel ofended or even "bought".

Moreover Woman are taugh to shut up instead of being honest with the problems and what is bothering her. They are used to keep things inside and disguise with a smile. A latin woman, under similar situations, would scream and slap the guy in 1 sec :P

That also explains, in my opinion, why they also cheat more easily: when their relationship is not so good, they are not honest & strong enough to quit their boyfriend, so they rather cheat to feel woman again and come back to the relationship, because it's always better than being alone - It's part of their insecurities.

They also generally change quite fast from one relationship to the other, therefore the fame of Polish Woman being quite friendly and not so hard to seduce, is more connected, in my opinion, to the russian culture heritage described above rather than something typically Polish....

Now, they also have good things: they appreciate when you learn their language, they help a lot each other, they recovered from a devasted war, are getting slowly more European, most of the movies nowadays have at least one Polish name there, they have nice parties and diversed geography.

To conclude, Poland could be a better country, if their citizens would be more flexible and improve themselves. But there are worst cases in Europe.

But your English is far from being perfect too so I guess you feel in Poland right at home.

If my English is far from being perfect and yet I had loads of communication problems, that says it all about their education level. FYI, I don't live there anymore, so If that's the only thing you are able to write, I feel sorry for you: another blind patriot...

PS: another (and recent) example of their lovely habits:

A champion hammer thrower has denied reports that he paid for a taxi home with his gold medal after getting drunk during a night out celebrating his World Athletics Championships triumph.

According to Chinese media outlet Tencent, Poland's Pawel Fajdek woke up in Beijing the morning after his winning throw of 80.88 metres only to find he no longer had his precious gong.

Sorry you have such a downer on Poles. Hasn't anyone from your country ever got sh1t-faced to celebrate a major achievement? The guy won an Olympic Gold Medal, had a few scoops too many, and paid his cab fare with his medal. Hilarious. I'd love to buy him whatever he's having. Good luck in your "Top civilized country".

Paying a cab fare with a gold medal is pretty ballin. If your point was that poles are awesome, you proved your point.

I'm starting to tire just a wee bit of the continued stereotyping, either Polophilic -or phobic!

My experiences in Europe with any number of different nationalities over the years have lead me to believe that none has a monopoly on any of the "Polish" attributes aforementioned:-)

While I realize a free as well as open forum such as ours allows everyone's perfect right to vent, shout, clamor to their heart's content, I'd like to do a little venting of my own here and wish only to say that so much of what has been posted about Poland in this forum (as in the German and French fora to which I also belong) is simply bilge, plain and simple.

Not really when someone working in a restaurant in tourist areas of Morocco can take home the equivalent of 3000zl a month and a Pole cant do the same in poland (and I'm talking before tips)

You had communication problems because they couldn't understand your terrible English.

PS: another (and recent) example of their lovely habits:

So what are you jealous about in this one? That he knows how to have a good fun? or how confident he is that he will win more gold medals so he can pay for a taxi with one?

won't got into details but enough said 90 percent of your rant is nonsense.

Pretty much I was thinking the same.

Grow up, guys! Why should the OP be in love with Poland and everything Polish? Poland (just like any other place in the world) is not the paradise and everybody is free to like it or dislike it. The guy came to Poland and experienced it and did not like it and konieć. He has the right to do so, hasn't he?

No! We Poles! Wir sind ubermenschen!!!! Or it's not us? :)
Ofc he has every right to think like that. We Poles are human. Ya know. There are some scumbags among us too. :D

Poland (just like any other place in the world) is not the paradise and everybody is free to like it or dislike it.

You don't understand inPolska, ofc Poland is not a paradise and there is a lot to be criticized, if you make a valid point and you say for example: I don't like when Polish people don't make the queue when they get on the bus, that would be a valid point because Polish people indeed don't form the queue when getting on the bus and some outsiders might not like it. This guy is just making the things up because he had miserable life in Poland so he decided to release his frustration here and it's just too obvious, it's like me complaining that I hate Dubai because it's to cold over there.

As many people, as many opinions. Nevertheless, I personally think that staying in Poland is a great solution for anyone who wants to know not only Polish culture. There you can also take specialized treatment in places such as being a part of Medicover Hospital, American Clinic in Warsaw. The staff working there is multilingual, so there aren't any communication problems, and what's more can be held there even very complex treatments.

they don't smile

Normally Poles/Polesses don`t smile to strangers. Such a tradition - get used to it.
But monkeys do! When you meet a monkey, it will grin at you from ear to ear if you give it a banana!
