Hi All

My name is Moley and yes, I am actually a real life mole! My mission in life is to Dig Up anything worthwhile about Warsaw that I can share with English speaking dudes who are thinking about coming to Warsaw for a City Break or even to live here (like me!).

I f***king love Warsaw and I want to tell people what a wonderful place it is, where the best restaurants are, what the best hotels are etc. etc. BUT I also want to tell people about all of the **** holes (moles don't like ****) that are around and about!

So, if you are like me and live in Warsaw (or come from Warsaw) and have something positive or negative to share with 15,000 people per month - share it!

Love Warsaw is now a, "Labour of Love!" as I found it just too frustrating and difficult to make a business out of it - so, before you start slagging it off (again!) please remember that the whole purpose of the site is to promote Warsaw as a, "Good place to visit" - Because it is!

Moley is here to stay (he's been here 9 months now) and he's looking for some help in making a decent Warsaw website for those dudes who don't know the place very well. Wanna help me?

The dude you know as Lovewarsaw is now dead! he is now making a living selling SEO services BUT Blueboy may still be around and about! and he's a mean SOB - so watch out!

Seriously PF members, I'm continuing with Love Warsaw as a hobby so cut me some slack and please support the site. There's too many assh***s ripping tourists off in Warsaw and we need to let the people know who the good guys are!

A dam good idea.....go for it...look forward to reading your stuff... I guess being in Wrsaw means its not you thats making holes all over my garden....?

Warsaw is a communist shithole and full of Gorals........and the worst kind of snobs. Overpriced too. What's there to love about a third rate capital city? It was really something before the war - the Nazis did an evil job on it - but the new democratic Poland missed a trick in not downing that Soviet layered cake montrosity and also not investing in logical public infrastructure like a new and safe central railway station for starters.

Away from your yuppie gated communities and your new city crescents and your new city condiminiums, which are all just plastic anyway - Warsaw is a ruin and a dump and will be just that for the next 50 years.

Wroclaw with proper planning and it's beautiful German architechture is light years ahead.

Not a chance, Poznan is far ahead of Wroclaw. Wroclaw public transportation is a mess - and when you leave the very main central area, it's not such a nice place either.

I like Warsaw, particularly as it's impossible to get lost on the Metro. I tried - as I like a good adventure - but failed.

Isin't that half the fun of un-blitzed cities like London and Paris - getting lost? It's not Warsaw's fault what has happened to it - but the poster got up my nose by referring to the fact, by insinuation, that Warsaw is a money mans' dream.

It has precious little else going for it - unless you're born and bred there and have an affinity for it and the successful yuppie life to match - in which case, Paris or London.............. :))

I have not seen the places that you are talking about and I am sure they are wonderful, perhaps you should do Love Wroclaw or Love Poznan? - I can help you with that if you want?

OK - Here's how I feel! - I have had enough of hearing negative stories about Polish people and Poland and I want Brits to know that Warsaw (and Poland) is a really cool place to live because I really believe that it is! It's also a really great place to visit.

Love Warsaw is a long way away from where i want it to be but you know what they say, "Slowly Slowly, Catchy Monkey!"

Despite all of it's bad points, Polishforums.com is a good resource of information but it's not Warsaw centric and I am just looking for some of the valuable contributors to contribute to Love Warsaw, that's all folks!

I'm not doing this as a commercial project anymore, it really is a labour of Love so please, "Get Loved Up" and help if you can.

Loving the fights on here by the way!

After living in warszawa for many years I have a very positive attitude to the city. I am originally from London so the yuppie thing I saw the late 80's, so the upwardly mobile make me smile, to use a phrase- " All the gear no idea " the one thing I currently dislike about Warszawa is the restaurants as they do not have to try, so the standard and quality has dropped across the board.

LOL Moley - loving your Razz. Don't like capital cities, lived in london for ten years......
But fair play to you - Poland needs a capital - just keep those above themselves Warsavians away from my winter abode please! :)

Isin't that a (new market) Polish thing? 'One business "conquered" - bored with that, must try something new' - admirable in a way. Bad for the consumer of course!

Mmm, let me think why not. Probably because it cost a **** load of money which a country that saw a 1/5 of its economy disappear overnight did not have.

Warsaw has some great places and the quality and diversity is out there. These days you just have to look a little harder, but I guess that is the same with any capital city. As for admiration, the speed of change and the way the Polish people have adapted to it, can only be admired. They are a very industrious nation.

What is there to do in Warsaw?

Hi Everybody!

Im kinda new to this forum though I have been reading the posts here for a while, I find most of the discussions quite interesting since it teaches me a lot about the general attitude amongst the Polish people.

Anyway, I am just about to move to Warsaw to work there, Im moving to Poland mainly because of my girlfriend but I am also really keen of learning a new language, culture and people (I have been spending the last 5 years in Nottingham/Birmingham and felt it was time for a change!)

So I was wondering if you boys and girls out there wouldnt mind helping me with a few things,

Is there a lot of live music in Warsaw? Im really into going seeing live bands on a regular basis.

How's the clubbing life there? Im mainly into alternative electronic music (apoptygma berzerk, covenant, vnv nation, code 64, nitzer ebb) but I do enjoy "normal" clubbing as well.

Also is there any good bars for a few pints after work/weekends around the centre?
I will be living on Jana Pawla II street so are there any good bars around there?

Im also into art/museums, any good ones that I should check out?

Can anyone also recommend a good polish language teacher?

Anything else I should know about Warsaw?

Bierhalle at the north end of JPII serves a very decent drop. Jimmy Bradley's (just off the south end of JPII). Galeria is very friendly if you're open-minded.

warsaw activities in the winter

Help!
I have visitors to Warsaw this weekend and I want to give them a good time (in the snow)! They all came in the summer and loved it and now want to see the city in the winter.
I'm thinking ice-skating definitely but does anyone know of a spa/open air pool/sauna place to take friends? Anything similar to the Icelandic Blue Lagoon in or near Warsaw? (I'm guessing not but who knows).
Recommendations really welcome....from activities to cool bars, cafes and restaurants in these subzero temperatures.
Mr Google has thrown out a few ideas but this forum often helps me out better than him!

The http://www.boathouse.pl/ is good for a Saturday brunch and the Sheraton is good for a Sunday Brunch. There is also a ski park ( hill) in ochota. The uprising Museum, The National theater ( prices are very inexpensive in comparison to UK)

http://www.wodnypark.com.pl/kontakt,pl has all the water gizmos and there is an outside part to it too.

Well i liked the Hyatt in Warsaw, Platinum was a fun club. And the strippers put cream on their tits...

So all in all Warsaw gets a thumbs up.
