Best Easter Eggs in Warsaw............

I'll be there tomorrow, can anyone point me in the direction of a seriously good chocolate shop that sells chocolate eggs? Thx, G

I have no idea what the street number is, or exactly where, but I saw the other day as I came into Marszałkowska street (not from the city centre side, but where it's still a one way next to the tremline on the way into the city centre) on the left hand side of the road there's a chocolaterie. haven't tried it yet - dangerous place for Muff to go to - but maybe they'll have some?

Thanks Wrolclaw, I'd hoped that blikle would have some. I know it's not the tradition over there, but had been told that in Warsaw at least i'd be able to find some.

So I guess they where refering to the rubbish that is sold in Supermarkets like Mars or Twix

Feb 8, 10, 21:45 - Thread attached on merging: Easter Eggs in Poland Where can i buy real Easter Eggs in Poland. Like you get in the UK. Big chocolate eggs. Cadburys creme eggs and so on. I want to buy all my family and friends some in Poland as they have never had them. I love Easter in the UK lots of sweets and egg hunts.

You have to wait till March and then you can buy it in supermarkets. But don't expect there will be real chocolate eggs like you say. They will be rather smaller and just chocolate without filling. Sorry in Poland we prefer real eggs with glair and yolk ;)

If you can't buy them---why not make them
Chocolate Eggs
The Ingredients you will need to make these are:
1 large egg
1 needle
100g plain or milk chocolate
1 egg cup
1 small jug
sugar flowers or white icing

1. Use the needle to make a fairly big hole in the to of the egg. Shake out the yolk and white into a bowl to cook later.

2. Melt the chocolate in a small pan set in a larger pan of boiling water. Pour the melted chocolate into the jug.

3. When the emptied egg has dried out, support it in an egg cup and pour the melted chocolate through the hole.

4. Leave the egg in a cool place to harden, then break open the shell.

5. You can decorate the chocolate egg with sugar lowers stuck on with more melted chocolate, or with swirls of white icing squeezed through an icing nozzle.

Thanks. I was thinking of trying to do that. If i could buy some real Easter Eggs tho. Big ones. In the UK they are £3 so i know in Poland if they did sell them they would be around 30zlt or more. I just missed easter lots last year. So this year i wanted to have a English-Polish Easter. If you find out where i can buy any from please tell me.

I think you might find some in Tescos around Easter time. I've only looked once (hate Tescos) and it was too late -- no sign of creme eggs (maybe never in that particular store) and all the big eggs had suffered that fate which seems common for new things in Polish country supermarkets -- taken totally apart by shoppers who were behaving as if they'd never been inside a supermarket before (you can understand why some shops keep their goods behind the counter).
