easyJet have just cancelled my flight returning from Krakow to Luton and I need to get from Krakow to Katowice for a Wizz flight leaving at 10.40am. What is the best, cheapest, quickest, most reliable (and safe!) way of getting there? Advice would be most appreciated.

Id be inclined to travel the day before and grab a cheap hotel, not sure if there are any near Katowice Airport as that is way outside the city on the North side. Its a good 30 minutes + drive from the A4.

Maybe train to Katowice then a bus to the airport.

Actually there is a shuttle service from Katowice (airport) to Krakow (Balice) it enables them to advertise Katowice as a krakow airport surely there must be a way to return on this shuttle.

Perhaps some kind of service from Krakow center.

I would guess that it runs both ways. Look at the airport classification, that in itself would suggest so. It is considered as a joint airport by Easyjet.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've just found out that I can book a Wizzair bus from Krakow on the Wizzair site at the same time as I book my flight. It picks up from a few locations in Krakow and costs less than £15 one-way. Not the cheapest way I suppose but it gets me to the airport for 09.00.

The service which rich55 is referring to is run by another company, so if you are flying with someone other than Wizz, it's still an option to get to Katowice for a flight.
Not cheap, but I don't think there are any other alternatives.
You can check departure times and book here: http://www.matuszek.com.pl/transfery_en.html

apart from a taxi transfer(around 200zl) you could check out wizz air, they do transfers from the central bus station(I think). If its at night time there is less public transport to airport. You could get a train to Katowice, but then the airport is about 25 mins outside katowice. Any good driver should get you from krakow to Katowice airport in less than an hour unless you hit very heavy traffic.

I normally use krakowshuttle, they are very polite, they arrive on time and the 200zl can be for up to 4 people.
