Please suggest midpriced hotels for 4 nights in Warsaw. No hostels and not right next to the train or bus station. Have never had good experiences close to them.
I hear the Polonia Hotel was great and midpriced???????

Thank you

Hiya,

Whenever I stay in Warsaw, and don't want to impose on friends or family, I have found the Metropol Hotel very good value, tasty and filling buffet breakfast, for between £55-£65 per night.

I book through www.vivastay.com and have found them to be quite reliable, although sometimes you need to confirm with hotel.

Funny story: i stayed there and booked via the internet and had a large discount a few years ago, i wound up back in Warsaw about a week later and went to stay again but they refused the discount as i hadnt booked on line. So, i requested to use their internet and booked in five minutes with the discount, no problems.

Its a really nice Hotel, but if you sit outside beware of the beggars hassling you every 5 minutes. Its right opposite the Palace of culture, yes?

Is the Polonia in a crummy neighborhood since one must look out for beggars?
thanks

Nonsense. It is expensive though.

This one should be more resonably prices. The location is just as good.

It is in the center of town a few hundred meters away from the Warsaw central train station an opposite the palace of culture. Try the Ibis hotel close to the Stare Miasto.

The Rialto is really nice for the same sort of money as the Metropol or the Polonia. Not QUITE as central as is is about a five minute walk down the road.

Everywhere in Warsaw you have to be aware of beggars. Doesn't mean the area is crumby per se - that said, the station is scuzzy!

Well I am not a pro. But we have a 4 star hotel called the Mercure Grand. Seems very central and the reviews are really great. Everyone says super clean and nice people there.

I've stayed at the Polonia twice and this hotel has class whilst all the other luxury hotels in Warsaw are glass and steel.

It was the only hotel left standing in Warsaw after the war and Eisenhower stayed there. The place has class coming out of every pore and I love staying there.

I'm a little baffled by Wroclaw Boy's statement as it's not possible to "sit outside" the Polonia as it opens onto the pavement (sidewalk)-perhaps they have an outdoor cafe since I was last there but I don't think there's enough space.
