Pet carrier with LOT (from Romania to US)

Raluca805  Aug 25, 10, 18:27    #1
Hi everyone. I am flying with LOT next month from Romania to US. I am taking my pet also, and because it's a small dog, i made arrangements so i can take her with me in the cabin. When looking on LOT website, i can see the maximum dimensions they allow for dog carriers, practically they are interested in making sure the carrier will fit under the seat, which is my main concern also. The problem with that is, that i looked everywhere for a carrier that would not exceed 20cm in width, however i can't seem to find any.All the carriers i found on the market have about 25, 26 cm in width.I know it is not a huge difference, but do you think 5 more cm. will give me any trouble? Any of you that flew your pet with LOT, what measurements of the carrier did you have? Any of you that noticed other carriers around you in the plane also can share your input on this? Is that space under the seat so tiny?

it has to be small/big enough to fit under a seat in front of you...

20cm x whatever, seems such a small space for any animal on a long flight, surely they must be some laws about this?

It will fit in the 767 without a problem. Remember your connecting flight in Bucharest means you don't have as much space. Why not take one of those dog purse thingies?

Hahhahaha, they don't exactly care much for the big animals sitting in the seats, what makes you think they care about the small ones under them?

Remember that you need a number of documents and vaccinations. Or else the dog will never get into the U.S.

Ty everyone for your responses. My pet has a UE passport, with shots, treatments and microcip since she was born. So she is all set in that matter. I know the 767 is bigger, but if you look on their site. there is also a max dimension of 20 cm in width, this is what i am having a problem with...They accept pet carriers, not pet purses...
