"From Poland With Love" follows two characters, Ivar and Julita as they search Poland to find the most fascinating, exciting and underexposed aspects of the country. Over seven episodes, our protagonists travel the country on a mission to track down the best bands, artists, directors, places, people, parties and of course the best bars Poland has to offer. Along the way, they learn about everything from the Polish solidarity movement that hastened the fall of the USSR to goth raves, Polish punk, real wodka and Julita's gran's secret recipe for pickled herring.

Watch the series when it premieres on Monday, September 27th.

Just wanted to share this with those who are interested to learn more about Poland.

I will link the episodes as fast as they come out.

VBS is awsome!!!

Here we go!
var flies to Warsaw on a mission to make a series about the modern Polish renaissance. He meets his beautiful guide, Julita, for the first time and they head off to meet Vienio, a pre-eminent Polish rapper who recycles Polish musical heritage as a producer. Then they head across town to meet Mitch&Mitch, one of Poland's greatest bands, who claim to be "from nowhere." Finally, they hang out with Pawel Althamer, a contemporary Polish sculptor, performance artist, action artist with strong feelings about his working class neighbourhood.

My friends and I watched that show one time, but I thought it was boring. Plus that guy is so ugly and skinny; it adds for a sucky show.

Maybe, but it's not as dry as most things one sees about Poland. It gets to the marrow...

True, but they could make it a better show. I give it 2 1/2 stars.

It's a great little show! but slightly predictable! Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane so far...... There must be more to Poland than the big cities :)

Well, franky speaking I'm disapointed. "Vodka Wars" was so much better, author put much more effort then, and it was both funny and interesting. "From Poland With Love" so far seems to be only about fun part, without main idea behind, chaotic.

Episode 4
The team heads west towards the German border to the Silesian forests. With its Germanic aesthetics, the area is fittingly home to a massive goth get-together. Ivar gets in on the goth-moshing before embarking on an exceedingly awkward chat with a sexy she-goth. Julita busies herself with asphyxiation-by-bodice. From there they head to Osinow Dolny on the Polish-German border where there are more hair salons per capita than anywhere else in the world.

Episode 5

Ivar and Julita head to Gdansk to meet a hero of the Polish solidarity movement who helped put and end to years of communist rule in 1989. Gdansk was the first stop for Hitler on his way to ******* up the whole of Europe, but the city also saw the start of the fall of communism in its Lenin Shipyard. Edward Szwajkiewicz, an electrician in the shipyard who used his position to disseminate anti-communist flyers, talks them through the final days of communism and how he and his co-workers fought the powers that be. At the end of the day, Julita's gran tell us her secret recipe for pickled herring.

Episode 6

Ivar and Julita meet up with Xawery Zulawski, a young, respected film director whose father was the great Polish director Andrzej Zulawski. While at his campsite, they talk over his controversial new film, hailed as the Polish Trainspotting, a drug fueled narrative with plenty of stylistic twists that tries to capture the essence of Polish mentality. Then to Lodz and its famous film school, where Julita interviews the amazing Malgorzata Szumowska-up and coming director and producer, and one of the most famous female filmmakers of her generation.
