I am a licensed skydiver who intends to travel to Brzeg in ¦l±sk. I will be visiting my partner's family but I would very much like to try out any local drop zones as I've never skydived outside of the UK before. Can anyone suggest any that are within a short ride of Brzeg, please?

There is a dive school in Miroslawice (EPMR), it's about 60km to the West of Brzeg. They do jumps out of a Porter, but I don't know if they operate during the winter. I can do some research if you want.

...alternatively, we could rent a 152 and I could throw you out of it.

Dziękuję bardzo! To jest doskanały. It's much closer than I'd dared hope to find one too. The route looks a little awkward as I have to either make a few detours to stick to the main roads or memorise lots of little country lanes. But that's really helpful, thanks.

Do you know whether they do kit hire? Failing that, do you know if there are any kit suppliers based in Poland? I'm just wondering whether a rig purchased abroad may save me some money as they're jolly well expensive over here.

As for the weather: I'll be riding over anyway so for obvious safety/comfort reasons and financial reasons I'll not be heading over until the weather's a little better anyway.

No clue about what they've got there, but they do tandem jumps, so I'm guessing they've got equipment to rent. Looks like the price for a ride up to 4000m last year was 80zl. Just about everyone at Miroslawice speaks English though. I went up a couple of times in the Porter (and came back down with it) to see meat packets being thrown of the plane in person.

They also do jumps at Szymanow, which is just North of Wroclaw, might be closer for you:

13k feet is more than our frugal DZO usually lets us have. At £17.38 on the current exchange rate that sounds like it's still a pretty good discount before kit hire. Thanks for all your help. I'll speak to them ASAP and get an idea of how much to take for jump tickets and (possible) kit hire.

Also - http://www.pyrlandia-boogie.pl/ in Ostrow Wlkp.

I know someone who has done a lot of jumps with them and is very very happy, and they've also done tandem jumps with two of my friends (me, I stayed on the ground) - who were also very happy. I can attest that they're very nice people there.

Don't take my word for it, but from what I've been told, it's hideously expensive in Poland too.

Apparently they throw people out of planes right down the street from you in Opole:
