Topless sunbathers acquitted3rd February 2009
The regional court in Szczecin has acquitted two women who sunbathed topless last May

Two women who sunbathed topless on a Szczecin beach were acquitted of charges of “indecent exposure” by the city's regional court on Tuesday.

The incident, which took place in May 2008, involved the two women who refused to put their bikini tops on. The women also refused to pay a zł.150 fine when police were alerted that they were sunbathing topless.

In court the women pleaded not guilty to indecent exposure, saying that there was no explicit ban on topless sunbathing in Poland. (RG)

in light of all the doom and gloom thats going on and the bickering of some posts. here is some good news, or is it?

will there be more breasts on show on polish beaches this summer (is this the tip of the iceberg) or is this an isolated case and all you polish girls will keep covered up?

Since when is topless sunbathing an issue in the modern world? I'm sorry, I don't regard this as good news. I just regard it as something that was nothing in the first place and the via loads of u-turns turns out to be nothing. Poland wants to be part of modern (and above all: WESTERN) Europe? Welcome! We over here (except in Ireland, which is lightyears behind and a bit out of context for that matter in Western Europe) make no point at all about topless sunbathing; let me even tell you: there are certain parts of our beaches where ppl can sunbathe completely NAKED! They still have a lot to learn, mentality-wise, before they can be really part of the Modern World, a World where into they would like to rush. The phaenomena of sunbathing topless or even naked is part of that world.

But I agree with the poster of this topic that it would be nice to see some of those nice "Dennisses" uncovered on the beach. I would vote for that anyway, but only if it would be cup-size C or up :)))

This is an isolated case I think. The Poles are much more conservative than the Germans when it comes to this sort of thing.

I don't think those women were making tits of themselves, or, maybe....

so what is needed is some type of official to patrol the beach area who can hand out permission to expose permits for those who reach the required standard. this way we avoid any shocking sights as seen on other beaches europe wide (old germans)

i am available this summer for the above position and think it`s a great idea.

The town where i come from in the UK is by the seaside and a holiday resort ( I am english by the way). During the summer in a quiet corner of the beach you can regulary find four or five Polish girls sunbathing topless. It was my elderly grandfather who found this out when he went for a walk which he does every sunday. Since this discovery he now goes on the same walk every day, somtimes two times a day. We would like more topless polish ladies sunbathing on our beaches. Long may it continue. I think we should have a special day in the calendar to celebrate this. Polish ladies indeed do have nice breasts.

Let's be honest...when I go to the beach in Scotland (I can't imagine ireland being much different) I amn't thinking about being topless...it's more sweaters and jackets!

Oh well , not that it matters a lot in this case but let's clarify things:

Girls were not topless on the beach, they went topless on an outdoor swimming pool called Arkonka. Arkonka pools in Szczecin are mainly for kids and are loaded with children all summer. Not that I justify Police action by this, by no means, it was stupid.
I go to Baltic beaches from time to time and have seen topless girls - it is not such a rarity.

You picked the wrong images, LOL. Nah, seriously, some people like such places but there's a complete lack of movement when it is busy. Not my kinda place. Give me a ride, ahem, bicycle trek out in the forests anyday :)

Boobs are boobs, so what? I see them every day and I'm glad for that but....

In Ontario, Canada, the court ruled that it is a basic human right for a woman without a top, to walk around in public just as a man is allowed to do. The Polish court had to decide if a woman is a second class citizen or not.

As to other people, women would not care about another woman's breasts. Men would enjoy looking. If this was not the case, then the country should pay for the psychiatrist to help the people find out why they have a problem.

Since it has been proven that there is no God, the religion factor is not there.

What it came down to, to stop a person (man or woman) from being comfortable against the heat while walking outside, would be unethical and just not nice.

When, where and how was it proven that God does not exist? I would think such an event would be documented, photographed, even video logged.

There is nothing wrong in sunbathing topless on the beach, but it should be banned in center of city or in place wchich is attended mostly by children. Next month I`m going to Oranje and I`ll see whether women from your country are all the time naked.

Has anyone ever been to a German beach and seen German ladies well best theri prime going saggingly topless? No wonder they say: You know you're in Poland because of the potholed roads and you know you're in Germany when the cows are better looking that the women!

Children above all don't see boobs as perverts with beards, mustaches, or walking sticks do. We imagined that seeing what a child saw for a while day and night after birth and was happy about as something that will damage him/her psychologically. Any of us could have spent more time studying instead of looking for porn (where this came from? - I saw no boobs on the beaches when I was little), if we had a healthy opportunity to see some Stanley cups roaming in the natural environment when we played in sand naked ourselves :)

In Poland like everywhere there are beaches for ppl who want to sunbath naked and public beaches where ppl go with their families. Those latter dont allow u to sunbath topless but still many women do it. And if everyone is ok with that then its ok. But it seems that in that case in Szczecin not everyone was ok with that.

I think Greece has other problems right now than to worry about topless or nude girls on the beaches. And besides, if the Greek team last night was representable for the Greek men, then Greek men are ugly and don't shave at all.

Edit: I think the Greek team should take the cheapest pssbl option to go home again as we are paying for it :)

I remember when i brought a czech girl who hated swimming in bathing suit and was naked all the time.The reaction of local males was clearly humiliating for our glorious nudist traditions and the girl was extremely disappointed by our w@nkers.
