Trip from Boston, USA to Poland - cost of stay / places to visit?

I wish to go to Poland.Can anyone tell me how much it would be from Boston?I would also like to know how much U.S. currency Should be taken For a fairly comfortably month stay?.Any suggestions for where to visit?I would welcome any feedback.

You should think about buying złote now, because our currency is getting stronger. It is going to be strong in 2012 (at least experts say that)

FUZZYWICKETS: $100,000,000 USD Hard to account for if they ask at the airport. $50 to $100 a night will pay for a moderate hotel. About the same per day to spend, train/tram/bus fares, meals should cover it.

Can you find a decent hotel in a major city in Poland for 150zl? Hmmm. Either way, your absolute low end comes out to $3,000 for the month which seems about right. I said $2000 because you could always stay in hostels.

FUZZYWICKETS: a decent hotel You'd be surprised! For 165zl ($50) you can find a decent place to stay. Even in Warsaw you can get into a few places for that. The Etap Hotel is $50 during the week, cheaper at weekends. The cheapest I know of is 85zl, but you don't get a bathroom for that.

Find a travel website online. It's not difficult.

I can think of at least three places in Warsaw alone. I've stayed in one of them myself. Nothing special, but clean and definitely adequate for a few nights.

It's even easier to find cheap accommodation if you can read Polish, which means that you can use Polish booking sites instead of the international ones.

where do you actually want to stay in poland? cities are obviously going to be expensive for just about everything, but you can do it on the cheap if you do a bit of research first as to where to eat etc. if you are staying in krakow pm me.

Why not?

I've travelled around Hungary, including going off the beaten trail where knowledge of English is minimal at best, and didn't have any problems. Heck, I've wandered around remote parts of Serbia/Montenegro/Albania before and didn't have any real issues.

I'd argue that if you want to discover Poland, avoiding the big cities is a must. While going to somewhere like Suwalki might be a bit crap, there's no harm in discovering Karkonosze, Bieszczady, etc...

Take the average person, fly them out to some little airport in Poland and give them a bunch of random little cities to visit for a month and see the look they get on their face. This person's looking for a vacation, not a lesson on survival.

As for women, this would be utterly out of the question.

tbh you are probably right, if you dont speak the lingo. at least in cities you will probably be understood.if i was staying in poland for a month, i would be looking at exchange rates as well. last time i was in poland, i got a better deal going to a kantor exchanging money,rather than changing it here in the uk first. always pays to do a bit of research first.
