On monday the 13th of June the Viking hoards arrive in Poland...!

Don,t panic girls , they come in peace , and hopefully there will be no rape and pillage going on....

The Vikings are a motorcycle club from Denmark that have chosen Poland as the destination for their Euro run this year...They wrote on Polish forums asking for advice , and i am helping them to have a good run and an enjoyable stay in Polska...

I am meeting them when they arrive in Poland , they will camp at my farm , and no doubt a few Polish beers and Kielbasa will be slaughtered by the invaders....

I am in the Drawsko pomoskie area....what would forum members advise would be good things to see and do in this and other areas of Poland.....?

I thought about taking them to Kolobrzeg , maybe Hel , Gdansk , maybe Malbork castle....

any other suggestions....?

I know it's a long way from you but if they want to visit Białowieża, they could visit the biker priest's church in Bielsk Podlaski, about 25 clicks from Hajnówka. Don't know his name but he hosts a big day for Polish bikers every year. His place of business is on the southern edge of town.

See, over there you could have them try the regional Żubr beer. Another region, another beer!

p.s.: in no way do I condone drinking and driving.

Somewhere on the net is a video of some Polish dipstick that decided to get a bit close to a Bison and have a bit of fun with it...

The bison butted him , chucked him fifteen feet in the air then wandered off into the forest....

Silly man....

How about staying on topic?

Hel, yes- I would give Jastarnia and Jurata a by pass. Sopot is also worth while. Gdansk is a must. What about Mikołajkil http://mazury.info.pl/atrakcje/mikolajki/index.htm

I have just recently had some visitors from Denmark in Poland, when I asked what their impression was of PL, they replied "cheap"

I also had some Fins as visitors, when I asked them their opinion on PL. they replied " the vodka is good"

Wildy, organize a roasted pig, the going rate for a full pig ( gutted ) is about 600 PLN.

Szczecin!

Some really awsome places there and if you got some more spare time a visit to the "Fort Anioła" could be nice too.

If they are proper Vikings !!, perhaps they could help me translate the Rune Stone outside the Palac Anna Wazowna in Brodnica, near the Zamek.

(Technical hitch while I try to re-size a photograph of the Viking Rune Stone to add to this post.............)

Bikers from lots of countries have been camping in Glastonbury (well a field on the edge of town, not literally in the town centre)all week. tomorrow's their last day, so they drove through the town on their bikes, flying the flags of their countries. A few Poles, a lot of Danes, the French were by far the noisiest, followed by the Italians.

I have been to biker rallies in many countries , but i think the Polish ones have been the most fun ones for me...

Perhaps because the Poles have for so long not had the freedom to have such events , now they have , they really have a good party....

I think my Danish friends will be gone from Poland before the 22nd of the month , which is a pity as my club is holding a rally near my farm....

It will be one hell of a party....!

In my younger years, we would often go to Amsterdam, for the museums.... There was a bar there called Suzies saloon, it was run by the Hells Angels, every time we went there this was our meeting point, we got to know the people well there, they are just laid back bikers, they don't have to prove anything, bcus they had already proved it, to wear the vest.

Of course you can,t ignore the fact that the Angels and a rival club in Sweden were shooting each other with guns and rocket grenades over a drugs turf war....

The cops stood on it hard only when the public outcry got very loud after an innocent child was killed by shrapnel from a car bomb intended to kill one of the bikers....

but most of us just want to ride our bikes , have fun , and not bother anyone....

I am sure my Danish friends will have a great time in Poland , make some great friends , and leave with happy memories of Poland....

Yep, it's an ongoing saga in DK, Bandidios vs HA. I mean they shoot crap out of each other in Norway and Sweden as well.

the problem was mainly with prospects from both sides trying to make a name for themselves. they were using Carl Gustov rocket launchers at one stage.

The difference between a biker gang and a riding club.

wildrover:

Mostly true. Sometimes not.

wildrover:

Ever try roasting a pig in the ground?

Yes you did!

wildrover:
wearing those helmets with the horns on

That would be cool!

warszawski:
wear the vest

Over here many bars have a 'no wearing colors' policy, to avoid fights.
