Just back from Krakow

I was in Krakow very recently and do know what is like. I even visited Bochnia by train at the same time. It was 1985 or 1986.

And that's exactly what I said - you were in Poland an epoch ago. The Poland you remember doesn't even exist anymore. You keep on Posting about some long gone country.

And I guess you still consider yourself young and beautifull too. After all you may have been 20 years ago, so what could have changed, right?

I was in Krakow last July and discovered that exposure of westerners through massive tourism has seriously damaged foreigners' reputation among polish girls.

Don't worry mate, Polish girls say that Brits can find themselves (i don't know if that is a proper word). You know, even if British guys coming for stag parties are rude, drunk etc. they have clean, ironed clothes etc. ;)

I have noticed this, could it be that their mothers / wives / girlfriends ensure they are well turned out :)

. Great country, Krakow truly magic city, Polish people and culture, unique and admirable.

Mind you, there are some very strange and nasty people that come from that town. We have some fine spescimins in Guildford.

So, how does it feel to be surrounded by your own kind?

We never talk to them!

How do you know then that they are

very strange and nasty people

Or at least how do you know they are from 'that town'?
What is 'that town', by the way?

What is 'that town', by the way?

I don't think it matters for Michal what town they come from, they still would be

strange and nasty people

They come from 'that town' of course, Kraków.

And you can just sense this without speaking to them or doing more than just considering them to be...

very strange and nasty people

Isn't Kraków a city rather than a town?

Isn't Kraków a city rather than a town?

I think the term 'that town' was written by you somewhere above, they certainly were not my words.

Apparently, they were your words.

The 'town' I was referring to was Guildford, which is a town and not a city.

No you were not. This is clearly in response to

I do not live in Kraków, I live in Guildford. Guildford is a town in the county of Surrey. Get your facts right.

By the way, I am not Polish by blood, my forbears are Brits, but I am now Polish in my heart. Great country, Krakow truly magic city, Polish people and culture, unique and admirable.

Mind you, there are some very strange and nasty people that come from that town. We have some fine spescimins in Guildford.

Gee Michal, When Arizona Yankee says that Krakow is a truly magic city, and you reply that strange and nasty people come from that town, what fact am I misinterpreting? Or what fact did you misinterpret in your reply to Arizona Yankee? And yes, it is a well known fact on the forum that you are from Guildford, to which Arizona Yankee made no reference in his earlier post.

Just to make a point, just returned from krakow me and 6 of my other friends went we had a good time and was always polite and respectfull saw some groups of english who were not so i understand that english have a bad name.

But in my oppinion all the polish girls i met who came over to me on the dancefloor and dance with me then spoke polish to me thinking i was polish but when i said i was english they got funny and treated me like a twat and this was about 7 girls in 1 night so at one point i asked 2 polish girls if they did not like english i they said they did not

so i my oppininon they are raceists as if i said that every german was bad i would be too why don't people judge you on how you are and not where you are from.

Like the behavior of your countryman has nothing to do with it, or you being too stupid, too ugly, too poor, too loud, too young, too old whatever case might be had nothing to do with it, naturally your nationality trumps all. Clearly all those British girls must be racist towards their own kind, since they told you to feck off and you had to seek a good time far away from your own shores. Grow up will you and take a walkabout far away from civilization to rethink your position so next time you might be more successful, loser.

yes well thats the right attitude to have towards decent people who are just after a decent weekend away with no hastle why would people be coming up to me thinking i was too loud too poor or too ugly i was not going over to the i think your user name says it all

There you go, real intellectual, first assuming a girl is a racist because she didn’t like you, then someone has attitude because they point out your naivety when it comes to life now this, you’re making too many assumptions.

Maybe they didst know English and thats why they walked away? but it doesn't mean they were racists. Hard to communicate if you don't speak the same language.

You went to the wrong place mate.

shush you have a fair point but been all over the world and most of the time you can still have a conversation even if you speak a in a language you both know a little of. but maybe that was the case that it would be too hard to communicate

they were being sound with me until i spoke back to them in English

Although she might have been attracted to you, once you spoke she realized what simpleton you are and would have nothing more to do with you, wow - how racist of her? Are you sure you did not puke all over your shirt which might have been a contributing factor to her reaction but in your mind, racist is the logical explanation, better then admitting your own faults I guess.

once you spoke she realized what simpleton you are and would have nothing more to do with you

That's a bit harsh :P

But i agree that he jumped to conclusion too fast - he was in Poland after all and it is weird to expect everyone there will speak English.

been all over the world and most of the time you can still have a conversaion even if you speak a in a language you both know a little of

If you know language just a little then i dont see much point unless u really are into someone's appearance.

Krakow's probably the most overrated city in Poland, if not Europe!

I prefer Wroclaw by a long way.

In fact I prefer Manchester, to be honest!
