Traveling to Poznan

Hi

I'll be flying out to Poznan from Los Angeles, California and plan on arriving on the 1st of January. A couple questions:

1) What kind of clothing should I bring with me?

2) Is $6000 USD going to be (comfortable) enough for 2 months? (I like to drink every once in a while ;-) Irish/American heritage :P)

3) Is it safe to fly out there during the winter months?

Can anybody give me some personal insight on Poznan and what to expect?

Thanks!

Danny

1) I guess there will be about 20-40 degrees.

2) For drinking that should do . Seriously, don't know if you want to cover accomodation
costs in that amount, but either way you should be very comfortable.

3) As safe as everywhere else -- Poznan is one of the warmest cities in Poland so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

4) Using the search tool you'll find these results about Poznan.

Danny,
check out http://www.polishforums.com/living_poznan_big_deal-7_1273_0.html and other in Living in Poland forum, pls.
Bring goose down! You can expect at least several days in January with temp. going below 33 F.
With 6K to spend I'd be comfortable in LA but it all depends on your spending habits;
$ 2-3 or $0.75 (store price) for a beer (0.5l)

I'll be in Poznan around the same time. It's going to be cold I was there this past Feb and it was below 0.

It should be enough. What will your living arrangement be? Beer and food are cheap.

Yes. It's safe. If you're looking for trouble in the late evening, you can easily find it though....just like anywhere. There are a lot of young people in Poznan so there are a few fights here and there. One of the safer cities in my opinion.

After travelling to PL a few times I was fortunate enough to be able to see different cities all over the country and Poznan happens to be one of my favorites. In the winter months it might not be as exciting as the summer. There will be less people and the beer gardens won't be open....but many places to grab a cold one.
