Yes, I stole her only daughter away to america and now I am to blame for all my mother-in-law's problems ... Married 10 years with two kids that spend most summers in Poland with Babcia & Dziedek (Sp?). Anyone else in a simular situation? Can anything be said or done?

Pudder,

if you "stole her only daughter to America", I assume the mother in law is still in Poland. Look on the bright side of the situation. It couldn't be better! Most mothers in law hate their sons in law so the further she is from you, the better. My mother in law lives in the States, I live in Poland, and although I've been married for two years, I still haven't actually met her. And I love it! I couldn't possibly stand her spoiling my son, telling me how to cook, how to iron my husband's shirts (in fact he does it himself) ect. So the fact that you live on two different continents is an advantage, after all you could be living next door...

Pudder,

Set up a web-cam for the in-laws. Then have a once a week chat with all the family gathered round. If the in-laws don't use a computer, sort it out with a neighbour.

Might work, might make your wife homesick. So think about it first.

I know how these older polish women are. My mom is one. They can be very stubborn and it's hard to change their mind once they set their mind on something...
I'm about to steal a Polish Prince from his mother....Haven't met her yet...The fun is about to start. But she's nice, from the pictures I've seen and she'll be happy for her son.
