Hi, I have an assignment on marketing hot sauce in Poland. What types of polish foods would you use hot sauce on? And who would most likely buy it? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I live in the United States. However, I think hot sauce would go good on Polish dishes with potatoes.

I think that initially you'll be looking to sell to younger (under 40) people who have tasted other cuisines and are open to experiment. It isn't a feature of Polish cuisine and many people don't like hot (as in chili-hot) food.

I think the Polish tounge for hot sauce is a bit premature. I had chili sauce in Poland that was labeled hot and spicy. It wasn't at all. But to my hosts, it was. :-)

I was told that hot sauce is cooled by ice cream or rice, but never water. The closest thing to rice in Poland is probably potatoes, so I would agree with the poster a few posts above me. I doubt mixing hot sauce and lody (ice cream) would be such a good idea.

@gigi
I love hot sauce, but I live in Canada, am not polish,
I think you have a very difficult assignment. Start with Mild salsa. not hot sauce.

My wife is Polish, and I've introduced her to spicy food. She enjoys a nice curry now. Some Polish foods that can go with hot sauce:

Any potatoe, but especially potatoe pancakes
Salmon ceviche ( this could work well, the cold fish, contrasted by the hot sauce )

Mustard and horseradish are popular in Poland, and perhaps you could use hot sauce in conjunction with both of those tastes?
