What a great name you have – how fitting. Must be quite difficult to differentiate your heart’s passion between the abundant have of the United States and the fragile need of your ancestral land of Poland.

I guess you would wish for Poland to quickly adhere to any conformity the mighty United States so designs for her.

Fuckin Yanks still so sure they are the only relevant entity on this planet.

I love how you assume. Truth is, you're way off and you obviously know nothing about me. I like how you are ignorant to the differences between gov't and people :) It speaks volumes about you.

Throughout my many visits to the mighty Empire of the United States I have found nothing but ignorant union between the populace and its elected officials.

Such blatant disregard towards global foreign affairs and geographical ineptness was rather shocking to tell the truth.

Timid souls wrapped and juiced up on some patriotic binge without a single thought or idea about what actually exists across the Atlantic and Pacific.

Poland is to America but a measly burden now. The erratic Middle East consumes immense amounts of the US taxpayers’ money, without a single question raised. Billions of greenbacks flow via the Atlantic towards it, yet when a true ally like Poland, at the very mercy of Russia’s aggressive rhetoric and energy wealth, speaks to strengthen its sovereignty, it gets a pathetic proposal of hosting missiles for a preposterous year.

Once again, **** America, you’re so consumed by lobbyist such as AIPAC, that you lost all admiration of those whom once regarded you in the brightest of lights.

LOL. Another one who's a## got kicked while in the US, he thought the streets are paved in gold and they are giving away money for nothing. Disappointments tend to turn into anger, classic, a sign of weakness I'd say.

Hmmm America can't be good and rich ;)

If everybody had American standart of life (big cars swiming pools) ... there would be place for only 2 bilions people.

Now Chinese are richer and richer, buy cars petrol, build houses, eat more.

Food is more expenisve, oil is more expenisve etc. :)

Life is brutal, everybody take as much as possible.

When we debate about separation goverment/people (bad governemnt good people).

Lets ask some members of this forum if they are able to resign form car, some food etc and be proud form their President behaving like son of GOD. Or their government in brutal way secure their consumption needs.

Antoher question is if last american governemnt was succesful.

Why does it have to be such a competition? The Chinese are doing well so lets applaud them and not be envious.

Anyway, this has nothing to do with the shield

The reality is that there is a division in the US between the "haves" and the "have nots", which is probably the case in other countries as well. We even have a class called the "working poor". These are people who work hard at two, sometimes even three jobs at minimum wage, but who would still qualify for welfare, but would rather provide for themselves.

I think many people look at the US and focus on the "haves" and turn a blind eye to the rest of the country.

I keep saying it over and over, and I will keep saying it until someone listens: only and handful of people in the US are represented by the current government!

I'll say it one more time: I am not represented by my government. It is not what I chose.

Should I say it a few more times???????

As I said If everybody on world would like to have "American life" there would be place only for 2 bln people.

I am not envious, I've just noticed one fact

I don't like talking like "it is goverment... not people"

What would american people do when in result of their presidents actions their standart of life would fall ?

They would vote on next president who would secure their needs.

sss

This time you are right.

When we look on statistics, US is strongly oriented on consumption.
It is good that there are new trends promoting new ways of life. I agree there are different americans but I'd say "life is brutal" and some people have more than others some times not being "good guys" I don't know if we can say it is government.

This has been said, over and over, and of course the government of any country only represents a proportion of it population.. But when the US government put out a cry for war after 911, correct me if I am wrong, but it was a darnsite more than just a handful of people what were happy to take up the cry.

Dont be fooled into thinking that American is only hated for what the government does. There are many, many Americans who think in the same way.

It's only recently that Americans have really started to wake up to how much hatred is directed at them, their government and their fellow countrymen. I remember the utter bollox that Americans would spout on this forum just a couple of years ago. Dont see so much of it now because people are starting to get the message.

This isnt directed at you specifically SG, but the ill feeling towards America goes a lot further than just the actions of your government. Americans would do well to understand this

It already has! Are you paying attention? Maybe the news you are getting is a little out of date! For example...the picture of the Hummer you posted, did you know that those factories in the US have CLOSED DOWN operations? No? Well they have!

Bush wanted that stupid missile shield. He is almost out the door (if only I could kick him and push him out faster!)

Don't be so sure that the next Prez is gonna want to spend money on that little project. There are bigger problems to fix, right here at home, on top of the Iraq mess!!!!!!!

When we look on statistics, US is strongly oriented on consumption.
But that has slowed down. Why do you think Bush sent out tax refund "stimulus" checks to the public in May and June? It was to try to revive the economy.

The increased fuel costs have the effect of raising costs across every sector in business. Most goods in the US are transported by trucks (trains are second even though they are more fuel efficient). The increased cost of fuel means higher freight costs, which are then incorporated into the selling cost to consumers. This makes if harder for people to consume what they did before as higher costs begin to pinch the budgets.

This slow down of consuming affects the countries producing ans exporting to the US. Our economy is tied to other economies. Change a variable on one side of the equation and you get an effect on the other side of the equation.

How many people here (besides Crow) studied Economics?????

Ruthless capitalists who will let America be bought and sold by 'higher powers'. Hopefully, Obama will restore some faith amongst members of the international community.

I know its not directed specifically at me.....but there IS a lot of misconception here and in the world outside this forum about what life in the US is like. People here form opinions based on snap shots put out in the media, and then generalize what they see to the whole population. It's very misleading.

People keep saying to us Americans...look closer, go deeper...you don't see what's behind your government. But at the same time, it wouldn't kill some of the posters here to take that same approach to the news and statistics on the US, which they seem to swallow whole with out any discernment. That just pisses me off beyond belief!!!!!!

Fuel costs are going to fail. Current price is effect of speculation, real price is much lower. World is going to have chance to introduce new technologies, and make Russians or Arabs "nicer".

when we look on charts with oil's futures we are seing hyperbole, but number of "possitions" is in decrease it means that media speculate about never ending increase of oil prices to sell. Still crisise is everywhere ... and nothing is going to change it. (read - oil is going to be cheaper sooner than some people may think)

Going back to streotypes, Bush is one of the most harming presidents of USA's image. Propably you must bide until the end of his candency.

Some small changes in american image would help a lot. :)

I guess the only other thing Russia exports is guns? I read that they are number 2 after the US. *sighs*

Maybe the EU countries could impose a ban on buying their weapons, or maybe someone else is doing their shopping from Russia?

Yes,guns. And guess what? They invest their petro money on gun production.Hit two targets with one bullet. The more money they make, the more guns they produce. So they are almost invulnerable.
And now they supply with guns everyone from Iran and Middle East to Africa.
