In fact, I think it'll be an honor to let the Americans have an instalation in Poland. Not only is it helping us but were helping them. It's a trade. What more can we ask for? We have their backs and they have ours. So as a Polish citizen and American I voice my opinion on this that we should allow the US to have a base(s) in Poland.

not all Poles want it, actually lots of them don't and I can see that the Americans have already brainwahsed you - what else is new, otherwise they would not be able to function.` Good luck the service.

United States Missle Base In Poland, Should be taken out of Poland, I'm American but at the same time I'm also Polish I'm an American-Polish, My thoughts about a missle base in Poland, I think That The Poland Citizens should say something about the US missle base that is located in there home country.

Maybe they don't mind and that's why they're not saying anything. I wouldn't care if Poland built a missile base in the U.S. Besides, it's the least they could do after we pulled it out of the fire for them.

Alright, Look, I'm from Poland who now lives in America. I serve in The United States Air Force.

I am too....and I you love to see a USAF base in Poland. I would like the chance to be stationed in my grandmother homeland, but the GMB system is primarily owned and operated by the US army

A missile defence system is about looking after a nation / nations. It is not so you can have a jolly little holiday in granny's homeland.

Could be at Szymany airport in North East Poland. CIA have been using it for some time apparently.

Canada and the rest of the World make fun of the U.S. all the time. Watch CBC for 20 minutes. I guarantee that somewhere there will be some joke about the U.S. They make fun of our private healthcare system, but when Canadians have to have serious surgery, they just come on down to the U.S. and expect us to help them out. And if Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver were attacked by terrorists tomorrow (knock on wood) who would be the first to help them? The U.S.. You know why? Because Americans are suckers. That's right. I'm an American and I'm saying that we are chumps. We help anyone who's in trouble, whether they "hate" us or not. Universal helathcare and all those other quasi-communist programs that claim to help the country just don't work. They look good on paper and the young people, the new generation, just doesn't listen to the older generation when they say they've seen it fail before. Let's face it, in a universal helthcare system, doctors get paid the same whether they save a patient or not. Is a nation's helathcare system working when patients have to bribe doctors for "good" treatment when they get paid all the same and don't care?
When the tsunami hit Thailand and the other south Asian countries, America gave a lot more money than any other country. I'm not blaming the other countries because, who knows, maybe they had some bills to pay. But the day after, what was Europe complaining about? They were saying that America didn't give enough money. We dug deeper into our pockets than any other country on the face of the Earth, and they call us stingy? But, like typical Americans, we shrugged it off because we're suckers.
So, the rest of the World can make fun of America all they want, but when something happens, we'll be the first to help you out whether you like it or not, and believe me, you won't be calling us fat or stupid then (at least until the situation subsides, then you'll continue).

Chenzo,

In short: The problem with the American military is that wherever they go they take their attitude with them. They seem to lack the skills of fitting in.
On the other hand, if we see a small number of US forces working in tandem with Polish forces they might have a better relationship with the locals.
I think most problems, if they occur, will be based on envy. Having your cadillac flown over from the States, use of the PX and cheap everything [when the locals can't use it]
These might sound petty but if you were not in favour of the Americans coming in the first place these petty differences can turn to disrespect.

Er - are you saying that state provided healthcare systems are quasi-communist conspiracies? I thought they were just a way of providing healthcare for people who cannot afford private health care. My god, my wife is a commie. Send round McArthur immediately

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. Universal looks good on paper, but if doctors are paid whether they help you or not, then where is their drive to help you? In private healthcare, a doctor typically gets paid more or less depending on how good a job he does. If he's a better doctor, then people will naturally seek his care. The doctors that remain are the best and the ones that Canadians want help from.
And there are state funded hospitals here in the states that you can go to for free if you can't afford it. There are also private charities you can seek for help.
If you guys hate America, then why don't other countries "fek" off? Stop coming to America if you hate us so much. Don't be a pus*y and say you hate us then come here. And if you live up to what you say, I applaud you.

Sorry Chenzo - I thinks this is so wide of the mark. If you have a vocation in healthcare you do your damndest to help your patients. You almost seem to be implying that money and future reputation drives patient care. I could maybe believe that pressure of work in state healthcare sometimes lead to inferior treatment but that is stress on the system not indifferent performance by the staff.

And by the way I do not hate America. There are some aspects of American culture and behaviour that I sometimes disagree with but I also have problems with some behaviours in the UK and other places around the world. I only dislike individuals not countries!

i hate to think that the level of healthcare received is dependent on wealth... although this is no doubt the case in many instances... the reason paople enter, and thrive, in the healthcare system should be motivated by alturistic values... not financial ones...

if the U S puts missile bases on Polish soil Polish fathers better get used to black son in laws. The U S military is full of poor blacks. They are going to go wild when they see Polish fair-skinned women.

if you want facts all you have to do is look at Okinawa. U S soldiers were accused of rape there. The people can't wait to get rid of the U S base there. Look at Germany the women there are nothing but ****** for U S troops. Once the U S builds a base they never leave. Why do you think the Iraqis don't want The U S troops on their soil because they want to build a permanent base there.

U.S. President George W. Bush may
visit Poland twice in 2007 in connection
with plans to site elements
of the American anti-missile defence system
in the country, Polish daily Dziennik
reported Wednesday.
The paper speculates that Bush’s desire
to push the missile-defence program may
see him return to Poland later in the year.
The U.S. officially submitted proposals
to site units of its anti-ballistic missile program
to the Polish and Czech governments
in January. Under the proposal the Czech
Republic would host radars, while Poland
would host anti-missile rockets at an exterritorial
base. The plan has angered some
top Russian officials, who question US
claims that the program would target socalled
rogue states, such as Iran.
Sectratary of State Condoleezza Rice
assured Russia this week that the base
would pose no threat to them.
“There is no way that 10 interceptor
[missiles] in Poland and radar sites in the
Czech Republic are a threat to Russia or
that they are going to diminish Russia’s
deterrent of thousands of warheads,” Rice
told a press conference in Berlin.
Dziennik reported that George W. Bush
would come to Poland during his visits to
Europe aimed at discussing the missile
proposal and tightening co-operation
between Warsaw, Washington and Tel Aviv,
Dziennik wrote.
“Poland would like to be Israel’s and
the United States’ strategic partner,” the
head of President Lech Kaczyñski’s office,
El¿bieta Jakubiak, said. HELENA BYTNAR

Hey - it could be a good time to get out of town and have a vacation. I was in Warsaw for his last visit and was staying in the same hotel as the W man. Couldn't move for men in dark glasses

As an American, I know that I'm tap dancing in a mine field here. I don't want to see those missles in Poland. I am old enough to remember the Cuban Missle crisis. To me this is no different, only the shoe is on the other foot. Frankly, I don't blame the Russians. As to Poland, I think it would be in their best interest to avoid any US attachments. The US has become a target. Why would anyone want to stand next to a target? Remember, politicians make policy, then people get hurt.

Well, soothsayer. Not only are you a History major, you are also a little racist bugger. What's next? Ethnic cleansing? Do the world a favor and go get neutered. Your gene pool should end here.
