I guess u like kapu¶niak or łazanki. Kimchi was nice, I largely ignored the smell. Not as bad as Japanese natto tho. It looked like earwax and smelt bad. Natto is fermented soy bean.

the koreans have a version like this too and they let it get all moldy and in blocks then they break the mold of and scoop the inside out. It is so smelly it.

It was interesting to see the reaction of my Japanese friend to their cuisine. He turned his nose up at a couple of things but we were generally quite adventurous. Japan has sashimi after all. And basashi (horse)

Horse is purple! They have that in Taiwan too they have a mayonnaise type sauce that goes with it. I can eat sashimi all day I love sushi, but some things like anchovies i just can't eat.

My GF makes sushi from time to time, with great results.

We're gonna try o-nigiri tomorrow. I can't help but feel that we are sabotaging a thread here Dzhaklin

Gimme Jack all the way. I could not find it in Krakow (of course, I didn't look in every store). I haven't seen Zubrowka in the US. It's funny, if I found it here, I would probably think it was the coolest bottle of alcohol in the store. It is very difficult to find Zywiec here, too (and amusing to see how it is spelled in some of the databases).

BTW, bulgogi is where it's at.

Żubrówka is an 'emergency' drink at my house ;) if there is nothing else, ...

I think Zubrówka is the best! I love it mixed with orange juice, hmmmm...
Or with red bull it's not bad either!

Zubrówka was the first hard drink in my life I could drink without mixing it with any kind of juice, but it is also great with cold apple/pear juice (or the mixtue of both) and maybe with an ice cube. When I first tried it, I just couldn't recognize that it is a type of vodka, it is so different from it. It's the best I've ever had, I just can't taste it's force despite it is quite a strong drink (40 % alcohol). My sweet Polish colleagues brought me 2 bottles and I was very pleased to have this rare thing. They swear by the Vodka+Redbull mix too, and they are right, it tastes great too. It's a shame that in Hungary we don't really have such a good drink like Zubrówka, OK apart from our wines which are pretty great! :)
